For 17 days this July, Prince Alfred Square in Parramatta is set to turn into a frosty winter wonderland. Think carnival rides, mulled wines, cabaret and an ice-skating rink.
If that’s not enough to get your heart pumping, grab a toboggan and race down the Winterlight ice slide. Made of rock-solid ice at 30 metres long, you’ll want to make sure you hit the slopes more than once. Along with this, you’ll also find a merry-go-round and an illuminated Ferris wheel all under a slew of fairy lights.
Themed nights will be happening sporadically here, with winter lantern and shadow screen puppet workshops, circus-trick masterclasses, morphology (interactive LED wires) and cabaret and acrobatics shows.
And if you’re feeling a little peckish, head to any of the food stalls for a feast fit for a beast. These guys have lined up the very best that Sydney has to offer including feeds from Gelato Messina, Blackbear BBQ, Zahara Grill and Waffle Pops.
