A Luminous Winter Festival With A Toboggan Mountain Is About To Hit Sydney

For 17 days this July, Prince Alfred Square in Parramatta is set to turn into a frosty winter wonderland. Think carnival rides, mulled wines, cabaret and an ice-skating rink.

If that’s not enough to get your heart pumping, grab a toboggan and race down the Winterlight ice slide. Made of rock-solid ice at 30 metres long, you’ll want to make sure you hit the slopes more than once. Along with this, you’ll also find a merry-go-round and an illuminated Ferris wheel all under a slew of fairy lights.

Themed nights will be happening sporadically here, with winter lantern and shadow screen puppet workshops, circus-trick masterclasses, morphology (interactive LED wires) and cabaret and acrobatics shows.

These guys have lined up the very best that Sydney has to offer. From German sausages from Berlin Bangers, Dutch mini pancakes from Dutch Poffertjes House and hearty soups and mulled wine from The Original Soup Man. And when the weather gets to hypothermic levels (a slight over-exaggeration) hit up the Adora Hand Made Chocolate stall for their iconic hot chocolate, guaranteed to warm you up.
