Galentines day things to do Brisbane

Valentine’s Day. It may only be a two-word phrase but it is one of the most dreaded in the English language (I know, dramatic much?). But, gals, what we’ve learnt is that you don’t need a man to have a loved up V-Day. Sometimes the person who is going to appreciate you the most is your main gal who’s been there for your through it all #RealTalk. The one you get dolled up with for a night on the town, binge watch crappy reality TV with whilst eating pizza and ice cream, and will comment ‘YAS QUEEN! SLAY’ on all of your Instagram posts—even though she spent the last hour going through filter options with you.

So, this year we’re saying a big “byyeee!” to Valentine’s Day and treating our BFFs to one hell of a Galentine’s Day this February 13.

Our pals over at Emma & Roe totally understand the power of your female BFFs so we’ve teamed up together to bring you the ultimate Galentine’s Day guide for all the besties that have been by your side, no matter what.

Hit Up A Pottery Class

What’s cuter than a pottery class with your bestie and recreating that scene from Ghost? (We’re joking about that last part, btw). Mas & Miek is a gorgeous ceramics and pottery studio in Newstead that offers classes alongside a gorgeous storefront. Walk away with unique goodies that will have you nailing a new skill, and scoring some #InteriorGoals at home. Or, why not swap creations at the end of the class with your BFF. Adorbs or what?!

Window Shop Along James Street

Wander down James Street past all the cute-as boutiques for a spot of window shopping (or just treat yourself!). This shopping mecca has all of the unique boutiques that you usually struggle to find, all in the one, leafy, luxe place! Even if you are being strict with your credit card, the tree-lined sidewalk is still beautiful to stroll along while you imagine a life with a few extra figures in your bank account.

Check Into Your Accomm At The Johnson

If it’s Galentine’s Day then you’ve got to go big or go home, right? So that, of course, means you need to book a cheeky staycation! Brisbane is so flush for choice when it comes to quirky places to stay, but you can’t go past The Johnson. Brisbane’s first Art Series hotel (read: cool AF) will have you oohh-ing and ahh-ing from the moment you step into the lush lobby, right down to their jaw-dropping hotel pool (voted best hotel pool in Australia—just saying).

Enjoy A Cocktail (Or Three) At Eleven Rooftop Bar

Being February and being Brisbane, if you’re going for a pre-dinner drink then you need to make it a rooftop because the weather is finally perfect (read: no oppressive heat). At Eleven Rooftop Bar you’ll be perched high in the sky with stunning views over the Brisbane skyline—perfect for enjoying a cocktail with the gals. Bonus points if you pair your drinks with the new Emma & Roe collection.

Treat. Yo. Self. At The Apo

Look, if you’re going to be braving the crowds on Feb 14 then you deserve to have some A-grade nosh and perfectly accompanied cocktails; so, ta-dah, The APO is your answer. With all the share favourites including tacos and pizzas, plus their the tantalising haloumi fries, The APO has you covered. Make sure you save room for dessert though so you can stare into each other’s eyes over deep-fried brownie bites. Plus, the courtyard that resides in Bakery Lane has pretty great selfie lighting.

Recovery Brunch At Riverbar & Kitchen

Every big night needs to be followed by a bigger brunch; preferably with mimosas. Make it cute and make it iconic with a trip to Riverbar & Kitchen. Serving cocktail jugs from 10am, yeah, we don’t need to say any more.

Phew! Sorry, not sorry if you're now 100% down a for a Galentine's celebration with your girls after reading this. Saint Valentine who?! To start packing, check out the list below or rogue and reward yourself for being single over on Emma and Roe's website
