With Brewsvegas set to close out with a bang and St Patrick’s Day 2018 just around the corner, this weekend in Brisbane has its eyes on the good-time prize! Brisbane has stocked up on the finest beer kegs, is going green and has gone above and beyond to deliver incredible street food. This weekend is also jam packed with shows, competitions, sports, and even alternative yoga sessions, all setting up the ideal conditions for a prime weekend in our fair city.

HWY Festival

Calling all theatre lovers; La Boite has launched their massive HWY Festival and it is bound to satisfy all of your stage cravings! Over the next two weeks the festival will encourage an open dialogue through workshops, masterclasses, readings, pitches, and more as a way to discover the future of theatre in Brisbane.

Wish your life was a Disney movie? Brisbane Comedy Festival and Impromafia are bringing you an improvised musical fairy tale that will transform your modern-day woes into hilarious parodies of our fave animated movies. If you are a fan of talking animals, awkward dance moves, and suspiciously familiar melodies, you will be swept off your feet by this completely improvised show.

Double Digit Duke Out

Get ready for the battle of the beers. If you were every wondering whichl Brissy brewery has the best brew, Fritzenberger is doing the hard yards for you to find out. Croft Brewing, Brisbane Brewing Co, White Lies Brewing, and Brewditos will be putting their best beer forward in an epic battle. Come along and cast your vote to determine the winner once and for all.

Metal Yoga

Ever find yourself in downward dog and wish there was a subtle backdrop of heavy metal music to enhance your zen? Metal Yoga is back at Church Brisbane and is challenging everything you think you know about yoga. Join instructor Rebecca for a one hour yoga sesh exposing you to both the dark and light side of a different yoga experience.

La Bayadère

Treat yourself to a night at the ballet at La Bayadère’s opening this Friday night. Following the story of star-crossed lovers pulled apart by an arranged marriage, this gorgeous ballet expresses tragedy and love through dance. Choreographed by Greg Horsman with accompanying music performed by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, this ballet will undoubtedly hit you right in the feels.

Broncos vs Cowboys

Listen up sports fans! Brisbane is hosting the second round of Broncos vs Cowboys. Now, I won’t lie to you, I don’t know much about the mystical realm of NRL, but any event where it is appropriate to yell with gusto at strangers and drink beer from a cup is an event to attend in my books!

Food Truck Fest

Shorncliffe has gathered the heavenly flavours of mobile food once more for yet another Food Truck Fest. Bringing together legends like King of the Wings, That Greek Truck, Flavours of Eataly, Spud the Food Truck, and more, whatever you are craving you are guaranteed an epic feed. Wash it all down with a craft beer from All Inn Brewing Co and a quick stop at I Dream Ice Cream and your night will be made.

St Paddy’s day has rolled around once again and Brisbane is 100% here for it. Officially the biggest St Patrick’s Day festival to ever be held in Brissie, Paddyfest boasts an impressive line-up of both local and international acts, from pipe bands and Irish dancers, to U2 cover bands and the Ukelele Death Squad plus headline act, comedian Jimeoin. Kicking of their day at 11am, Eagle Farm Racecourse will be celebrating with plenty of Guinness in true Irish style. The event will be catered with food trucks a plenty, entertaining you throughout the day, even showcasing the Irish dancers to bring out your festive vibe. The event is open to all ages with free rides and face painting, so bring the whole family and embrace the luck of the Irish!

St. Patrick’s Day In The Valley

If you are looking for an adult only way to spend leprechaun’s day, don every scrap of green you can find and head to Finn McCools for the weekend. The Irish will be taking over Brunswick Street Mall with shamrocks and beer spilling out onto the street. There will be pop up bars, Irish food stalls, and plenty of Irish drink to see you through the entire weekend!

Stone & Wood At The Old Museum

The 6th Annual Chilli Cook Off!

This event has been going strong for 6 years and is continuing the streak into 2018, serving up plenty of beer, Bloody Marys, and all the chilli you heart desires, plus a trophy to the reigning champ.

Brewsvegas Beerlympics

Sunday is the last day of Brisbane’s Brewsvegas 2018, and so it only seems fitting that they would cap it off with what has to be the most anticipated athletic event of the year: the Beerlympics. Register your team of four and make your way through the obstacle course as you fight for the title of the ultimate Beerlympian! Did we mention there will be plenty of beer? Not a bad way to end your weekend.
