We’ve gone Easter mad here in Brisbane. HCBs are overloading our bread bins, Easter eggs are (if not already cracked open) hidden away ready for the feasting carnage that is set to be the impending long weekend, and yet, we’re still hungry for more.
But, make no mistake, we’re not about to waste precious Easter calories—a close relative of the ‘dessert stomach’—on any old sweet treat. That’s crazy talk. We want MORE chocolate and we want it now, dammit!
And wouldn’t you know, New Shanghai, Brisbane’s Hall-of-Famer dumpling house has only gone and heard our sugar-crash cries.
Behold; Pink Bunny Bao. The cutest damn Easter dessert we ever did see! The legends in the NS kitchen have taken everyone’s fave dumps (aka the humble, fluffy bao), shaped it into a cute-as-all-hell bunny face and stuffed her with chocolate.
Steam them up and what do you get? Hot, fluffy, melty chocolatey goodness. Science, guys. We’re not drooling, you are.
Happy Easter, Brisbane. Eat yourself silly and let it all go. The gym can wait.
