6 New Burleigh Openings To Add To Your Diary

Burleigh is absolutely buzzing with this immaculate spring weather; its available commercial real estate being one of the hottest commodities on the Gold Coast.

There’s so much happening in fact, we can barely keep up. You too? We’ve done you the service of rounding up the new openings and those coming soon into one handy little playbook.

Plus, up the road in Palm Beach and Tugun, final preparations are being made to welcome a swag of new openings in the coming weeks. Sounds like we’ve got some eating to do in October, guys!

Harry’s Steak Bistro

What will undoubtedly be one of the hottest new openings to drop this year, the savvy team behind Justin Lane will soon unleash their spin on a Parisian steak bistro, by the name of Harry’s. This one has extra special meaning for owner Adam Haralampou. He’s created the concept in honour of his loveable late grandfather Harry, who was a massive foodie and advocate for quality cuts of meat. Already tempting us with glimpses of the stylish fit-out via Insta, this beauty is only weeks away from opening. And, we’re teaming up with the crew to give away a table for six at the exclusive launch shindig—food and bevvies on Harry’s. Watch this space! #beefboozeandbanter

There’ll be many devout ethnic food lovers frothing at the knowledge we’re finally gaining a dedicated Lebanese bistro! Rabbath is the realisation of a family dream for Beirut-born Patrick, whose parents immersed him in the world of Lebanese cuisine from an early age. Making magic happen within a tiny space under the Ambiance building, the intimate 28-seater eatery will feature an open-plan kitchen that’s all part of the entertainment, a large alfresco communal table and lounger, and hints of old-world Arabic fused within a modern design. There’ll be a char-grilling rotisserie, bread baked onsite, and house-roasted Rabbath coffee, with small plates using fresh locally-grown ingredients dominating the menu. Want a small taster before you dine in? You’ll be able to order authentic Lebanese pitas to takeaway and enjoy in the park! Rabbath is on track to open in November.

Kiss the Berry

You lot went a little cray cray when we broke news that Brisbane acai specialists, Kiss the Berry had secured a primo posi for their first acai bar on the Gold Coast. Snapping up a sought-after site vacated by Brumby’s, by late spring you’ll be treated to the most diverse selection of acai bowls the Coast has ever seen. We’ve got our eyes firmly fixed on the Snickers Delight, an acai blend with banana and peanut butter, topped with coconut yoghurt, handmade granola, strawberries, coconut flakes, and raw cacao nibs. See? Being healthy never has to be boring! Summer is looking delicious.

Cirkul is a hybrid of two last names belonging to young owners Raffaele Cirillo and Josh Kulari. The two first met when travelling Europe, Josh having worked in bars for years and Raffaele 15 years’ experience as a chef. Raffaele was the sous chef in Jaime Oliver’s Perth restaurant when the company transferred him to Brisbane. It was then the two mates re-connected, combining their forces to create Cirkul. They chose Burleigh, naturally, and the cuisines that first brought them together. Cirkul is a modern European restaurant, with influences from France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Germany, and more—their goal to create a bloody good dining experience, rather than forcing diners to settle on one cuisine when heading for a night out. Basically, there’ll be something for everyone (pardon the cliché), served in a rustically-decked out restaurant that features an exposed brick wall, 80-year-old bridge beams, and an alfresco dining area out front. We’re intrigued to check out the lighting too, which includes Ukrainian mineshaft lights lining the bar and an explosion-proof light from a Russian nuclear power plant. Interesting…

Raw Energy

One of the busiest brunching spots in Coolangatta has recently secured its piece of the pie in Burleigh. Located a sandy-footed walk from the beach and alongside Tropicana, Raw Energy is ideal if you’re eager for grab-and-go options so you can maximise your beach time. Or if you can peel yourself away from the sand, dine-in on healthy eats like the breakfast burrito, macadamia and lentil burger, gourmet sandwiches, or fresh-squeezed juices. Vegos, eat your heart out at Raw Energy.

The Protein Bar

Recently popping up a few doors down from Slice Pizzeria on the north side of the Gold Coast Highway, and soon to be joined by Cirkul and Rabbath, The Protein Bar is helping to spawn an entirely new foodie hub in the Burleigh precinct. Conveniently positioned for gym junkies post sweat sesh next door, or for beach goers watching their waistlines, check out their line up of protein shakes and smoothies, superfood bowls, protein pancakes, healthy burgers (it is possible!), Paradox blend coffee, and grab-and-go salads and wraps. We’re feeling slim just talking about it…

Now, if anyone else wants a slice of Burleigh, there’s a gapping piece of real estate left where the Salvos departed… any takers?
