She’s the musical darling who shot to stardom with her from-the-heart ballad “Adore” and took a top gong in this year’s Triple J Hottest 100, second only to Flume. Freakin’ Flume!
Though what we love more than anything, is how much Amy Shark adores the Gold Coast in return. With Australia’s music industry now banging down her door, Amy says she has no desire to pack up and move to the big smoke anytime soon (who would?). She’s proving just how much the Coast and the blossoming local music industry mean to her, by headlining a FREE concert on Thursday, April 27, as part of the 2017 Gold Coast Music Awards.
We bet 12 months ago, when she was accepting several finalist posis at the 2016 Gold Coast Music Awards, never in her wildest dreams did she expect to be headlining the awards the very next year, off the back of a sold-out tour around the country.
Now in its third year, Gold Coast Music Awards are teaming up with Surfers Paradise Alliance, with the awards night to be an exciting new prelude to the annual Surfers Paradise LIVE! music fest. Just today, organisers have announced that Amy Shark will headline a free concert on the festival-sized stage, together with other uber talented Gold Coast musos the Hanlon Brothers, Aquila Young, and Yes Sir Noceur. So folks, whip out the diary and keep the night reserved for what’s going be one helluva evening fun filled with love and fist pumps for all things local.
