North Americans know that finger-lickin’ chicken wings are the ultimate pub grub.

While we might’ve been a little slow to catch on, these days there’s no shortage of joints offering chicken wings to gnaw your way through. With that in mind, we thought we’d do you the service of compiling a hit list of happy hours where you can find some of the best wings on the Gold Coast for 50 cents to one buck a piece.

Bine Craft Beer Bar

Undisputed king of the best chicken wing happy hours on the Gold Coast, Nobby Beach’s Bine Craft Beer Bar hosts their cult-like Wing O’Clock every day between 4pm and 6pm. Yep, you’ll only pay a tiny 50 cents each for some of the tastiest wings we’ve devoured on the Coast. Though heed this warning: take on the inferno sauce and prepare to feel the fury of the ring of fire.

Where: 1/28 Chairlift Avenue, Nobby Beach

Obsessions on Chevron

This cheeky burger-lovin’ joint gives us heart palpations for so many reasons, grease very likely being one of them. To get your paws on Obsessions’ 50-cent smokey bourbon BBQ wings all day and night Monday through until Thursday, you just need you buy yourself a beverage. #totesthefatshake

Where: 37 Thomas Drive, Chevron Island

Ultra Lounge Bar and Café

WANGS! Did someone say chicken waaannnggs! Ultra Lounge have a bit of a rep for their sweet arse Wings Wednesdays, when these saucy wee morsels go for just 50 cents a pop allll night long. Surfers Paradise on a school night? Dangerous!

Where: 1/38 Cavil Avenue, Surfers Paradise

Tupe Aloha Bar and Grill

Like you needed any more reason to love Kirra’s tiki bar of good times and pineapples. Tupe Aloha has no shortage of awesome specials to pair with your margarita, but the one we are crushing on most at the mo’ is Monday’s meal deal when wings sell for a buck-a-roo a piece. Is Tupe Aloha home to some of the best cheap eats on the Gold Coast? You betcha.

Where: Shop 1, Corner Douglas and Musgrave Streets, Kirra

House of Brews

With a distinctly Canadian welcome thanks to a bevvie of Canuks on staff, it’s little wonder this joint loves its wings. Fortunately, here in Oz we’re treated to wings which are plenty meatier than their anorexic North American counterparts. Just skin and sauce? There’s none of that business here! House of Brews is one of the best craft beer bars on the Gold Coast so if you haven’t checked ‘em out yet, let their Monday night $1 buffalo wings special be your calling. Paired with a bloody Caesar or Purple Haze bong cocktail? Don’t mind if we do!

Where: 17 Orchid Avenue, Surfers Paradise

Helm Bar and Bistro

Start the weekend off right at Surfer Paradise’s Helm Bar where all freakin’ day on Fridays they’re dishing out cheap-as-chips 50-cent wings. Slathered with your choice of hot sauce or smokey BBQ, you’d best be grabbing a wad of those napkins too, for mopping up after you’ve made a pig of yourself.

Where: 30—34 Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise

Bavarian Bier Café

Zee Germans do a pretty swell job of deep fried errything, so it’s no surprise they are dishing out the goods when it comes to the best chicken wing happy hours on the Gold Coast. At Bavarian Bief Café, take your pick of sauces including mild BBQ, classic buffalo, and spicy diablo. When is this happy hour, you ask? Dollar dollar wings are dished up Monday through Friday between 4pm and 6pm; conveniently it’s the same happy hour when they’ll generously upgrade your 300ml beer purchase to a burp-inducing half litre. #boozy

Where: 2 Oracle Boulevard, Broadbeach

Surfers Sandbar

Another of the Coast’s best craft beer bars is helping you to wing in the weekend (get it?!). On a Friday arvo at Surfers Sandbar, 10 bucks will buy you a plate of wings and craft beer combo. Sweet, no? Once you’ve finished stuffing your face, get rid of the mess on your chin with a beach swim across the road.

Where: 52 The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise

Society of Florida

Chicken wings are the ultimate soul food. Florida Garden’s new suburban hangout Society of Florida knows this so added a rippin’ special to celebrate the end of the working week. Only on Fridays between 4pm and 6pm, can you get a plate of saucy wings for $5, washed down with $5 beers and vinos; a stellar deal which you can soon enjoy in their smashing new beer garden. Shhh… you didn’t hear it from us.
