We can’t start without acknowledging that Palm Beach quietly said farewell to a cafe icon late last month.
Yet in a suburb on the move, the closing of a chapter for one place, translates to an exciting new opportunity for another. And with prime Palm Beach commercial property being some of the most hotly contested on the Coast, it’s little surprise this hospo heavyweight is next to stake a claim.
In what’s another massive vote of confidence in the 4221, Adam Haralampou and the crew behind Justin Lane and Harry’s Steak Bistro are scaling it right back, to bring a new grassroots cafe to the sunny precinct that’s designed purely with locals in mind.
Works are currently underway on a fresh fit-out—they’ve hinted at an interior featuring lots of white, hints of navy blue, natural wood, with splashes of live greenery—and all is on track for a late February opening. Woot!
Going by the name of Mr Bengal, Palm Beach’s newest daytime addition should gel nicely with the community fabric. You can expect a friendly and approachable vibe, super smooth coffee, and a wholesome brekkie menu featuring loads of healthy eats alongside plenty of classics, and all at reasonable prices.
Adam and the team aren’t giving too much else away just yet, but we have faith that whatever these guys are up to, they’re going to knock it out of the park.
