You must have heard of Mary’s, right? You know, unquestionably one of Sydney’s best burgers? Well, it appears that two locations and the ultimate Sydney foodie crown are simply not enough for these architects of deliciousness, so they’re taking on a new challenge. And it’s all about the kebab.
The guys will set up shop in Darlinghurst bar The Cliff Dive. And while the kitchen is tiny and very sweaty, the boys are keen to take on the challenge. According to all-around legends Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham, the geniuses behind Mary’s, the kebabs will “draw influence from the ‘3am drunk fat man’ kebab that we all love”.
So what can you expect from Mary’s new Darlinghurst Kebab digs? Think smoked chicken, Lebanese pickles and garlic sauce; perhaps some devil pork curry with mango pickle and sorrel yoghurt. Then maybe some slow roasted lamb neck with XO sauce and turnip stalks. For the vegetarians, there’s roast pumpkin and corn with cheese turnip top salsa verde. They’re all sitting around the $10 mark, so we’re adding it to our list of cheap eats in Sydney
The Mary’s Kitchen at The Cliff Dive will be open from 8pm until late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting this week. Are you ready?
