Café Bella Dee
This pancake-rich café is a short walk away from the water, plating up some absolute snap-worthy feeds.
Don’t Tell Aunty
It’s an ‘unauthentic’ approach to Indian food, and we’re into it. Co-owners and chefs, Jessi and Amar Singh have taken over the former site of 4Fourteen with an 85-seat restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Their brainchild is Don’t Tell Aunty, a funky hotspot in the heart of Surry Hills which has a regularly changing, rule-breaking menu that spans all regions of their beloved India.
Jack & Knife
Ok, so if you’re looking for a quality meal that’s simple and unpretentious? Jack & Knife is offering just that.

Collectionist Hotel
This up-and-coming boutique hotel is definitely different. Located in Sydney’s inner-city Camperdown precinct, this one has been described as a real-life ‘choose-your-own-adventure’. Basically, The Collectionist commissioned several designers from leading design studios to create 39 individually designed rooms. Read that as, no room is the same so they’re pretty much all their own piece of art. And everybody wants to stay in a piece of artwork.
V Lounge
To be completely honest, this place is a gold-mine for any dessert aficionados out there however, it’s also standing evidence that the gigantic burger craze still lives on (in the best way possible).
Parida
This brunch gem on Bondi Beach has been officially relaunched. They’ve got a new fit out thanks to local interior designer, Ally Marotte, a new chef and a best of all, a brand new menu. Barzaari

MUJI
International brand, MUJI is bringing their minimalist, affordable and uber cool vibes to Westfield Chatswood. Huxtaburger
ICYMI, Huxtaburger is one of Melbourne’s best and more top notch gourmet burger spots and fiiiiinally they’re crossing the border and heading straight for Sydney. This is part of a frankly very aggressive expansion and word on the street is, there’ll be 50 stores in the next five years.
Easy Lane
No matter where you’re located in Sydney, Easy Lane will always be worth the trip. The restaurant gives off a rustic vibe with rooms filled with communal tables and dozens of ferns hanging from the ceiling (indoor jungle, anyone?). The best part? This little gem is tucked inside Windsor RSL and we’re absolutely here for it.
Manly Greenhouse
Manly, you've just copped a seriously sweet waterfront venue, with the huge reno that has put the ol' Shore Club Hotel on a whole new level of beautiful. Consisting of three levels, every one as lush as the other, this new venue will offer a casual beachside bar and dining, a sizzling charcoal grill restaurant and a rooftop bar with quite honestly the best sea views going around.
Buon Ricordo
A Paddington institution since 1987, Buon Ricordo serves (actually) authentic, inimitable Italian cuisine in a polished, romantic sort of setting that will totally transport your senses to an evening in Naples. It's one of Sydney's most iconic restaurants and there is a menu full of reasons why we are still head over heels in love with this one.
Cuppa Flower Waterloo
A florist and a cafe in one? Is that not a perfect combination? Cuppa Flower is a Sydney cafe that brings together a few of our favourite things, actually—good coffee, delicious food and fresh flowers.
Redfern Surf Club
Redfern might not exactly be beachside but the Redfern Surf Club exists on the sunny corner of Botany Road and Henderson Road and we dig it.
Veneziano Coffee
Serving up tasty coffee in a vibe-y modern space is Veneziano which has been brewing up its exceptional seasonal blends from Africa, Central and South America out of Melbourne’s Richmond for almost two decades. Lucky for us Sydneysiders, it’s broken into Sydney’s coffee scene on Bourke Street.
NOLM
NOLM launched first as an online boutique in 2017, sporting a serious edit of some under the radar emerging designers that you would be hard pressed to find in store anywhere in Australia. Now they’ve opened a bricks-and-mortar one-stop-shop in Chippendale, a stone’s through from other cool, ground-breaking Sydney institutions like White Rabbit Gallery and LP’s Quality Meats.
She Loves You
She Loves You is humble, warm and doesn’t rely on gimmicks to prove it’s cool – which, of course, it is. It’s intimate; the kind of place you could sit for hours and really (properly) catch up with mates.
Rollers Bakehouse
Not like you needed more reason to visit Manly but just so you know, there’s a brand-spankin' new croissant haven about and it’s pretty friggin’ amazing. Rollers Bakehouse, who also have an Instagram feed to boot, is nestled in a laneway only a few steps from the beach. This sweet addition to the north is bringing a whole heap of deliciousness to Sydney shores and we can confirm cookies, bagels and hamburger rolls all make an appearance.
Bang Bang
We’ve been waiting for Bang Bang to roll up its mysterious grungy bullet-sprayed garage door. This brand new bar is one the latest additions to Steam Mill Lane—a lively little foodie laneway tucked beside the epic, monstrous, incredible new International Convention Centre that’s made visiting this sector of the city fun again.
Sydney Brewery
The brewery known for its Sydney-centric suburb puns and otherwise beautiful beer alliteration has opened a Surry Hills location. You know the labels—there's the Glamarama Summer Ale, named for the glitzy fresh folk of Tamarama Beach. Then there's the OG Surry Hills Pils, the Pittwater Bitter for the freaky people of the north, and the Darlo Dark for the once dark and debaucherous Kings Kross and Darlinghurst (RIP).
