Would You Spend $200 On A Toner?

I’m not the type of person to spend $200 on anything. I am, however, the type of person to be easily swayed by trends. So, when I heard about the SKII Treatment Essence, I knew I had to try it.  $200 is a pretty big investment, and given that I don’t even use a toner on the daily it did seem like a misguided spend. However, it’s technically my job to try this stuff, so I took the plunge and spent $200 on toner. But should you?

What Is It?

The mega-exxy product in question is SKII’s Treatment Essence. Treatment Essence can give off some Zoolander vibes (moisture is the essence of wetness, anyone?), the secret ingredient, Pitera, was discovered when sake maker’s hands were ageless in comparison to their faces in old age. Turns out Pitera is an uber effective anti-aging ingredient, so the clever cookies at SKII bottled it up just for you.

Does It Work?

Yes. After just once use of the Treatment Essence my skin was rejuvenated. It was plump, less red, incredibly soft and made applying make up a dream. My make up lasted all day, without sinking into fine lines around my eyes or smile lines and my skin looked flawless. As well as these superficial benefits, I felt like my skin held moisture better as a result. My moisturiser seemed to work completely differently when combined with the Treatment Essence, likewise with my eye cream. So the verdict is, it works.

How Do You Use It?

Just like a normal toner, you can apply this to your face post cleanser, and pre serum with a cotton pad or with your hands. If you use your hands though, make sure they’re damp so they don’t absorb the product before it reaches your face. Then, follow with your moisturiser and serum.

What Are The Negatives?

The biggest negative is the cost. At $200 this gem isn’t cheap, unfortunately. The smell isn’t fruity-fresh either, but it doesn’t linger on the skin so it’s not a huge drawback.

Should You Get It?

If you have the money to spare, your skin will thank you to the moon and back for investing in this product. I know mine has.
