ICYMI cheese is always a good idea, and gin is an even better one. Which is why when we heard about a legit gin cheese—insert heavy breathing—destined to take pride of place across cheeseboards Australia wide, we had to do you guys a solid and tell you all about it.
The masterminds behind this latest—why didn’t we think of this first?!—creation is the lady who knows a thing or two about cheese, South Aussie cheesemaker Kris Lloyd and the teams behind the Adelaide Hills’ burgeoning gin scene. In the latest example of give the people what they want, the G&C (geddit?!) fuses two of our greatest loves into one, and the result is one of the smoothest and creamiest cheddars you’ve ever tried—and we’re willing to bet you on that one.
Yep, Adelaide has become the locale for a pretty serious gin scene, and 5 of the leading local players have collaborated to bring this gin selection to life infusing their own unique botanicals.
If you want to get your mits on what could quite possibly be the culinary collab of 2018, you’ll have to make a beeline for Woodside Cheese Wrights in the Adelaide Hills or to one of the South Aussie gin distilleries involved—Settlers Spirits, 23rd Street Distillery, Ambleside Distillery, Applewood Distillery and Kangaroo Island Spirits—but we’re hoping it hits their online store ASAP. So, in the meantime consider this permission to book a cheese and gin weekend away #welcome.
