We know you guys are pondering how to celebrate this month’s royal nuptials between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, well ponder no more!
One of our fave hotels, QT Gold Coast, is rolling out the red carpet and hoisting the Union Jack in anticipation of the wedding of the year! In true QT Gold Coast style, this jovial team is going the full monty with a three-day right royal palooza featuring an imperial high tea complete with Pommy fanfare. Think: a Pimm’s pop-up bar, flowing champas, a Queen’s throne photo booth, paparazzi, bunting, mini flags and (of course) butler service.
While the new QTea high tea menu has just launched (nudge, nudge Mother’s Day is approaching), royal wedding diehards can book their spot at three high tea sittings happening across Friday 18 to Sunday 20 May (10am, 12:30pm and 3pm).
Your QTea comes complete with steaming tea served in fancy tea pots and an optional glass of Perrier-Jouet champagne. Or, elevate the buzz with a few rounds of Meghan’s apparent poison of choice—Pimm’s punch cocktails. You know you want to.
Step aside boring ribbon cucumber sandwiches and dry scones, ‘cause the customary cups of tea is where the tradition ends. QT Gold Coast’s new high tea menu is sprinkled with Insta worthy morsels from beetroot and goat’s cheese macarons, to savoury doughnuts, confit duck brioche and more on the tiered savoury tower.
On the sweeter side, expect adorbs creations from carrot cake lamingtons, retro passionfruit slice and to-die-for chocolate layered popsicles that resemble pimped up Magnums. We know right? Swoon!
Have an aspiring princess in tow? QT Gold Coast is suggesting the early 10am sitting for your little ladies, with appearances from the Fairy Godmother and British Bulldog characters. Or, for an all-afternoon affair, the later 3pm seating will be topped with a Pimm’s pop-up bar, butler silver service and surprise entertainment.
And so you don’t spend the royal wedding at home sobbing uncontrollably into your bread and butter pudding, on Saturday evening, the Pimm’s cocktail bar and a big screen will be set up on the poolside Calypso Deck to live stream all the action from the big day in L-Town. Hurrah!
