Taking up residence on Harrogate Street in West Leederville, Bad Love Burger Co is the first bricks and mortar burger shop by the legends behind the Smashburger BBQ pop-up. Regulars at Bayswater Bowls club, the pop-up has gained a cult-like following over the years, with the people of Perth desperate to get a burger fix whenever and wherever they popped up next—even if it meant lining up for hours.

Aurore Patisserie
Sitting pretty at the base of the Ritz-Carlton at Elizabeth Quay is none other than Aurore Patisserie, home to heavenly pastries and delicious coffee. Aside from their irresistible flaky croissants and scrolls, these guys also brew a mean coffee with beans by Veneziano Coffee Roasters and they’ve got soy, oat and almond milk on hand—there’s nothing they’re not good at. Enjoy the ambience and pastel tones inside the patisserie as you sip and crunch away, or take in the sights of Elizabeth Quay by taking a seat outdoors.
The Wine Merchant
After-work drinks just got a whole lot cooler thanks to the Wine Merchant at the State Buildings in Perth. The walls are lined with a carefully curated selection of boutique wines, with drops for new drinkers and those with more seasoned palates—so take a seat at one of the cosy leather booths and enjoy a glass or three. The entire menu of ready-to-drink artisan wines, beers, spirits, aperitifs, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks is food-friendly, so you’re going to want to get comfy as you dig into the best of WA’s local and seasonal produce.
The Rechabite
Rechabite Hall, one of the founding buildings along the William Street strip in Northbridge, was once a vibrant dance hall. It then sat dormant, gathering dust, until Marcus Canning, the founder of Fringe World, Rooftop Movies and The Bakery, got it back into tip-top shape in 2019. It's now home to four separate venues and we couldn't pick a favourite if we tried.
Blasta Brewing Co
Open from morning to midnight on the daily, Blasta Brewing Co in Burswood is all about globally-inspired beers (the word ‘Blasta’ itself comes from Scottish Gaelic, meaning ‘delicious’) and classic pub food.
Nic & Kolo
Nic & Kolo might be a fairly laid back cafe in Applecross but it has some serious fine dining clout behind it and if you don't trust us, you should be able to trust the many awards they've won. They've taken home the CIA Gold Plate Award for Licensed Cafes for the past three years and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Bumplings
Whether you’re a MasterChef tragic or just an avid dumpling fan, you’ll be pleased to hear Bumplings by Brendan Pang will be back up and running at The Sunshine Harvester Works as of next Thursday 11 June.
Coogee Common
Housed in the Old Coogee Hotel, Coogee Common is brought to us from the team behind Bread in Common. The 120 year old building has been carefully restored with a helping hand from property developer Adrian Fini and the result is phenomenal.

Like its sibling in Northbridge, Palace Arcade Victoria Park is serving up humongous 22-inch pizzas sold whole or by the slice. Catering for everyone, the pizzas can also be tailored to the needs of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free gamers.

Vegans rejoice—Roho Bure has set up a location in Leederville and they are serving up scrumptious vegan ice cream. With flavours like salted caramel, coconut vanilla with dehydrated raspberry dust and a raspberry coconut and cardamom flavour, it's no wonder we love this place so much.

Billing themselves as a fresh perspective on modern Chinese, Miss Chow’s in South Perth is equal parts warm and friendly service, delicious food, punchy cocktails and a gorgeous airy and open interior.

Velvet Espresso
Velvet Espresso has been serving up some of the best coffee in Perth for years and they seem to just keep getting better. Sitting at the St George’s Terrace end of King Street, Velvet is well known amongst the nine to five crowd for a quick caffeine hit, but they also whip up drool worthy breakfasts for an absolute steal.
Hearth
Hearth is the jaw-dropping restaurant that’s attached to The Ritz-Carlton Perth at Elizabeth Quay, but it couldn’t be further from what you’d traditionally think of as a hotel restaurant. At first sight, Hearth is quite simply breathtaking. While you might imagine deep, dark colours in a place that’s named after a fireplace, the fit out is light, bright and uber-relaxing thanks to the cool blues and views of our beautiful Swan River. If it’s a fine day, you might want to get a table outside and do some people watching but come dinner time, try and snag a booth inside for ultimate comfort.
Al Pastor Taqueria
Taking up residence inside The Sunshine Harvester Works in Fremantle, Mexican street-food diner Al Pastor Taqueria transports its guests to the thick of Mexico through their undeniably authentic Mexican flavours. It's brought to us by the same guys behind RoyAl's Chicken and Burgers, so you'll want to get in there on the double.
La Cabaña
From the team behind Eat No Evil, La Cabaña in South Fremantle brings authentic Mexican flavours to life by combining their expertise in Mexican cuisine with our own beautiful WA produce. Think tacos, ceviche and an ice-cold drink to wash it all down. La Cabaña will be one of the few places in Perth whipping up epic tacos al pastor—that’s spit roasted pork for those of you playing at home— and if you've been to Mexico, that alone will be enough to have you making your way through their South Fremantle doors every other night. The drinks menu also highlights the incredible wineries and breweries that our state has to offer so get down there and show them some love.
North Bird Dining Room And Wine Store
Joining the ranks of amazing wine stores slash neighbourhood bars that have been popping up in Perth, North Bird Dining Room and Wine Store has opened its doors on William Street in Northbridge and you’re going to want to make your way there on the double.
Croff Bakery
For quirky pastries that will knock your socks off, you need to check out Croff Bakery in Perth. They’re dishing up all kinds of flaky and buttery croissants packed to the max with specialty flavours like jalapeno cheese, durian, char siew pork and pandan coconut.
Mr Chapple
Mr Chapple at The Old Synagogue in Fremantle offers up everything from a rooftop bar with views of the famed cafe strip to a French wood fireplace that'll keep patrons nice and toasty in cooler months, with the bar stocking loads of WA craft brews and plenty of spirits.
L’Chaim
L’Chaim is the mysterious underground bar at the historic Old Synagogue in Fremantle and it’s worth hunting down. Named after the Hebrew toast ‘to life’, you can expect high class drinks in old world confines—think: plush booths, moody lighting and a grand old piano which does get played on occasion.
Miller And Baker
If you’re after freshly baked bread with freshly milled flour, Miller & Baker on Lake Street in Perth is the place to go. Grab yourself a loaf of tangy sourdough, traditional dark rye or a crunchy baguette and head home to make the softest sandwiches you’ll ever eat, or grab one of the sambos they make in store, if that’s more your speed.
Pogo
Pogo has taken over the spot that used to be May Street Larder in Mount Hawthorn and the Middle Eastern eats are already making waves. It’s still under the Bib & Tucker and May Street team so you can expect chef Scott Bridger’s touch on all the dishes from the whipped hummus with king prawns and Aleppo pepper to the Persian duck pancake—a Persian take on the classic Peking duck pancake.
The Arbor
Is there any place better to take in Fremantle’s stunning views than The Old Synagogue’s beer garden, The Arbor? Overlooking Fremantle Oval, The Arbor is one of four venues within the historic site which was originally home to Western Australia’s first synagogue.
Tonic & Ginger
Chef Leigh Power brings his passion for hawker-style Asian street food to the menu at Tonic & Ginger, the new two-storey eatery at Fremantle’s The Old Synagogue. The wide range of hot, sour, sweet and salty Asian fusion dishes will have you salivating as you indulge in a culinary journey in historic surroundings. Start with bite-sized dishes such as crispy pork ribs with fragrant peanut satay and pickled cucumber salad; graze on salt and pepper chicken wings with kim chi caramel or feast on tagorashi spiced rump cap with mushroom jam and black pepper sauce. Don't forget delicious sides including flaky paratha bread with curry butter.

With a name like this, you can be sure the crew at Joey Zaza's in Perth knows how to whip up a good sandwich.
