The impending open date of the brand new Calile Hotel is making us all kinds of excited with promises of luxury suites, a day spa, and Nobby Beach’s iconic Hellenika on the rooftop, but the latest intel has set our wallets and wardrobes buzzing with anticipation as Bassike’s first ever Brisbane store is set to become part of The Calile collective.
This is also pretty damn exciting for Bassike fans as the store will be their largest on a single level, promising 135 square metres of prime retail space. That’s a lot of drop-crotch pants. The store’s design comes courtesy of Bassike’s longtime design partners, Akin Creative, who have designed the fitouts for all of Bassike’s stores, and are absolute masters of blending Bassike's aesthetic with the surrounding architecture.
Like any good neighbour, The Calile is fully embracing Bassike, collaborating with them to design the hotel’s uniforms. (We’ve tried but we can’t think of a better label to reflect the clean aesthetic of the hotel and also accommodate Brisbane’s sub-tropical climate—it's a win-win.) Anyone familiar with the brand knows they're famous for the exclusive use of organic cottons and breathable linens in their designs, and hit the right balance of timeless moderntiy. And, let's be real for a second, who doesn't love a dropped crotch?
We can’t wait to see what they end up designing for the hotel, and we’re absolutely frothing to check out the Brissie digs.
