Anyone who's been around the block of the Brisbane dining scene will know the name Galichet. Former owners of the iconic Montrachet restaurant, Thierry and Carol have spent more than 20 years serving up the good people of town their award-winning French fare.
After selling Montrachet a few years ago now and taking a bit of time off from Brisbane's culinary scene, Thierry and Carol Galichet are back at it about to open a wine bar, bistro and wine shop in the heart of Spring Hill. Enter, La Cache a Vin; set to open later this month!
Bringing their French heritage and love for wine to Australia, the couple will source (and therefore supply) approx 90% of La Cache a Vin's wine offering, with some of the choice bottles to be found in the wine store next door to the bistro.
So, what can we expect food-wise? Traditional French fare is a given with Galichet's background and passion for authentic dining experiences, but with the addition of the adjacent wine bar and store, La Cahce a Vin is about much more than just the food. If you like good plonk—seriously, who doesn't?—and some seriously relaxed vibes, La Cache a Vin is bound to set your little heart on fire.
Gear up for a new era of French dining in Brisbane. Ooh la la.
