Puma Has Dropped Retro-Drum Kicks And We’re Livin’ For Them

PSA: all drum machine nerds (and for those peeps who just really dig a cool set of kicks), this one’s for you. Iconic Japanese instrument manufacturer Roland and of course one of our fave global sneaker brands, the legendary Puma, have teamed up yet again and have just announced a second 808 inspired sneaker. Sidenote: for those non-muso types, the 808 is an epic drum machine that was one of the first of its kind and is and credited by many as the spark that lit the flame of hip-hop music worldwide.

Roland’s awesome collab with PUMA kicked off earlier this year with the unveiling of the PUMA’s RS-0 Roland, also inspired by the iconic 808 drum machine. While the RS-0 Roland is a completely awesome reboot of PUMA’s classic 80s R-System line of running sneakers, the new RS-100 Roland is decked in modern materials with a more retro look. Because, duhhh, who doesn’t want to have an 80s party grooving on their hoofs?

We’re talking vibrant orange suede and white reflective edges amidst a combo of white-red pebble leather. All colours and detailing represent the totes 80’s vibes found on the Roland TR-808 drum machine.

Both the RS-0 and RS-100 Roland sneakers have already dropped (cue 80s sprinkler dance move). We have a feeling these babies may just be your sole-mate of the sneaker world, so run, Forrest, run and make those drums come true. You can check out the drum kicks right here.

The Details:

What: Puma and Roland globally drop RS-0 and RS-100 sneakers
Where: Available for purchase online or Puma Westfield, Chatswood
