We called it waay back in 2017 that Brisbane had become the Australian brewing city du jour, but things have been really heating up these past few months with news of multiple heavy hitters making our sun-drenched city home. From Scottish brewmaster Brewdog, to Felon’s Brewing Co, everyone is seemingly brewing their hops on Brissy soil.

And now, we can (very) happily raise a glass to Byron legends, Stone & Wood who have just announced they’re opening a brewery right here in the heart of Brisbane!

Their rep as some of the finest craft beer makers in the country precedes them. Responsible for such iconic tipples as their Pacific and Garden Ales (show of hands who hasn’t had this dynamic duo feature heavily in a Friday night out on the town…), Stone & Wood have created some of the most iconic session beers in the country, so naturally we’ll welcome them with open arms.

What can we expect? Stone & Wood’s Fortitude Valley space will feature a microbrewery that will service the 90-seater bar and on-site tasting room, an event space (because parties) and a head office space to home all of their lovable Brissy crew.

Brisbane has long been known to brew a bloody good beer; from the iconic XXXX brewery bottling up those iconic Milton mangoes, to famed local lads Newstead Brewing Co. and Green Beacon waving the flag for local frosties, we’re nothing if not obsessed with a cheeky beer, and we literally cannot wait for

So, here’s to another fantastic Brisbane brewery to bend an elbow at. Cheers, guys.
