There are few things in life that we love more than wine. That’s why we get more than a little bit excited when we’re promised something as epic as a two-storey wine bar, even if it’ll only be popping up for two days.

Thanks to the Brisbane Racing Club there will be a wine terrace popping up in a converted shipping container. But that’s not the only exciting thing happening at the races for this year's Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival so we’ll give you the down low on every event you’ll want to mark in your calendar, stat!

James Boag’s Premium Doomben 10,000 Day | Saturday 13 May

Kicking off Brisbane’s Winter carnival, this race day is about all things fashion, food, and ACDC. We also hear that there’ll be a little thing called horse racing happening on the day and with a theme like embellishment and imagination, we fully expect you to do it up right with your flashiest outfit and be ready for a good time.

Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup Day | Saturday 20 May

Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup Day—just like all of the other fab race days—has many levels of luxe when it comes to choosing a package. You can keep it real with a general admission ticket, or go all out with one of the private chalets. As for entertainment, it’ll be Chisel Revived bringing all of the classic Aussie vibes to the stage, which will be a nice break in between trips to the pamper stations.

Darley Kingsford Smith Cup Day | Saturday 27 May

Formerly known as the BTC Cup Day, this is one of the more prestigious race days and it’ll be taking over the heritage-listed Eagle Farm Racecourse this season. You can relax in the member’s retreat, save your cash by springing for the general admission season pass or choose one of the many marquees to park it with your mates for the day. No matter which you choose, we know you’ll be rocking the ‘bold colour’ dress theme like it’s nobody’s business.

Treasury Brisbane Ladies’ Oaks Day

Now for the reason you’re all here—the beautiful wine bar that has stolen our little vino-loving hearts. It’s fitting that the wine bar is popping up on Ladies’ Oaks Day, because everyone knows that drinking wine is a classy affair. To take advantage of this one, you’ll want to buy tickets to the Yalumba Wine Terrace, where there’ll be comfortable seating, delicious food and, did we mention the wine? The celebrity ambassador is Kris Smith and as far as we’re concerned, it’s now your mission to track him down and convince him to marry you.

UBET Stradbroke Day | Saturday 10 June

Wrapping up the carnival for the season is the UBET Stradbroke Day, which is all about finishing with a bang and a bit of sparkle, and tracking down Anthony Callea (2004 us would be so jealous). Plus, the beautiful wine bar will be there—surely you don’t need any more convincing.
