One of this century’s most mysterious street artists, Banksy is (slyly) coming to Melbourne this week! Work by this anonymous, world-renowned graffiti artist will be displayed at The Paddock in Federation Square until Sunday the 22 of January 2017.
Along with his legendary satirical art, over 80 Banksy stencils and paintings will be on display at ‘The Art of Banksy’ exhibition. Put together by the man who discovered Banksy, Steve Lazarides, Melbourne is The Art of Banksy’s third international stop. Obviously, everyone knows that Melbourne is one of the best cities in the world.
Lazarides has been credited for bringing street art into professional art galleries and continues to work with some of the best artists in the world. Ionic Banksy pieces on display will include ‘Girl with Balloon’, ‘Flag Wall’ and ‘Laugh Now’.
Known for dark humour and carefully crafted political messages, The Paddock at Federation Square will also host a rotating roster of our favourite food trucks organised by Welcome To Thornbury to enjoy with the outdoor Banksy exhibition. Craft beer, summer cocktails and a huge line up of live music is also promised at this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit.
The Art of Banksy will run at The Paddock, Federation Square from the 7 October until the 22 January 2017.
