If there was ever a time to venture to a new Brisbane bar, the silly season is it. At this time of year no one can judge you for being tipsy by midday, and eating non-stop for four weeks straight. No wonder we’ve been looking forward to it all year!

These are the best new Brisbane bars to check out this month.

Buffalo Bar

Brisbane CBD

If you’re in the CBD you should stop by and say howdy to the gang at new American restaurant and saloon, Buffalo Bar. Complete with a whiskey lounge serving an epic selection of America’s finest whiskeys (which also plays host to rockabilly nights, FYI), and an extensive US craft beer selection—bottled, and on tap—this is one cowboy you’ll want to party with. If you're looking for a place to toe tap on the weekend, Friday and Saturday nights are home to live Rockabilly sets, for a real rootin' tooting good time.Throw the 18 varieties of chicken wings available on Buffalo’s bar menu into the mix and you’ve got your new party favourite.

Brooklyn Standard

Brisbane CBD

Joining The Triffid and The Milk Factory, Brooklyn Standard is the latest addition to Brisbane’s live music scene, and it’s a goodie. Tucked down Eagle Lane in the CBD, you’ll hear funk, soul, blues, and more coming out of this new Brisbane bar.

Coppa Spuntino

Brisbane CBD

The latest venue from the team behind PUBLIC and Red Hook, Coppa Spuntino is a wine and charcuterie bar by night, Italian breakfast and lunch café by day. Their tapas and pizza-focused menu is perfect for enjoying over a long afternoon with wine(s).

New York Brew Company

Fortitude Valley

Brought to you by the thin-and-crispy geniuses behind New York Slice, New York Brew Company is about to make your night on the town that much more delicious. This new bar and New York-eats location is home to such New York street food favourites as pretzel burgers and hot dogs, and a New York cheesecake sandwich. Yes please?

Coming soon…

Fans of Yardbird in Fortitude Valley, prepare to get clucky all over again, because a new Paddington location of this much-loved American ale house is opening opposite Kettle & Tin next week. Dishing up the same burgers-and-wings bar menu as the flagship (yes, there will be Death Wings), but with the addition of a brand new Yardbird breakfast menu, the new Yardbird will be a doozy.

Hop & Pickle

South Bank

Opening soon on Little Stanley Sreet, Hop & Pickle is a new South Bank pub to add to the growing list of Brisbane’s food-focused watering holes to get your Christmas jollies at.
