Fact: seafood instantly makes any situation 101% better. Something that the clever cookies at Gasworks are obviously well versed in, because they're launching a pop-up sushi bar-come-seafood festival this Australia Day! Because what's more Australian than throwing a shrimp on the barbie?

Chill out in the gasometer surrounded by deliciously fresh seafood, a cold drink in hand, with the Hottest 100 pumping in the background. Sounds idyllic, no? That's exactly what's in store for you at Reef Seafood and Sushi's Australia Day Seafood Festival pop-up. In partnership with Gasworks Plaza, there will be a mega seafood BBQ (so Australian it hurts) and a sprinkling of pop-up bars. Heavenly.

In addition to all of the seafood and drinks, there will be giant games, a photobooth (yes!), plus a prawn peeling competition—because why not?! Plus, as if this wasn't exciting enough already, there will also be a gorgeous music and lights show in the gasometer.

This truly is the greatest country on earth.

The details

When: 26 January, 11am 'til late.
