If you’re on the hunt for things to do in Brisbane of the face-stuffing variety, we may have a few suggestions for you. New Brisbane restaurants and bars have been popping up all over the joint this month, including new American wing bars, new pizzerias, new cafes, and new live music venues.

There’s no shortage of new things to eat and drink in Brisbane-town, so forget the pre-silly-season diet (that’s a thing, right?) and get out there!

These are the best new Brisbane restaurants and bars to explore this month.

Julius Pizzeria | South Brisbane

When we heard Teneriffe Italian favourite, Beccofino had a little brother venue on the way we were beside ourselves with joy. That’s how much we love this pizza and pasta restaurant. With the same casual atmosphere and authentic menu as its papa venue, Julius Pizzeria is bringing a bit of Italian magic to the south side.

The Triffid | Newstead

Housed in a WW11 hanger in happenin’ Newstead, The Triffid is Brisbane’s hottest live music venue, and a home to a new bar and beer garden that’s made for Aussie summer sessions. Definitely one to be seen at with a frothy in hand as the mercury rises.

Jamie’s Italian Brisbane | Brisbane CBD

Jamie’s taken up residence on Edward Street in the CBD (in the venue formerly home to Rosie’s—lol), giving Brisbane’s Italian fans a taste of the Jamie Oliver magic. A warm, industrial fit out and pasta-fuelled menu are sure to be a hit with punters.

Buffalo Bar | Brisbane CBD

The gang behind Mighty Mighty in Fortitude Valley have opened new American restaurant Buffalo Bar in the CBD. A temple to meat, this new restaurant has 18 varieties of chicken wings on offer, as well as ribs, brisket, hoagies, duck waffles… You get the idea.

The Gettin’ Place | New Farm

This new New Farm café is borderline perfect. A small, inviting café with a courtyard out the back, great coffee, and a fresh and simple menu, The Gettin’ Place hits the mark every time.

Arthur’s Green | Red Hill

Tucked into the Red Hills bowls club is the adorable Arthur’s Green, a new Brisbane café from the talented team behind Albion’s Artie & Mai. Arthur’s Green has the same homely charm as its predecessor, and is dishing up tasty all-day breakfast and lunch options (the pulled-pork toastie is a stand out) and really great coffee. This new café is as relaxed as it is charming, and one to check out this month.

Coming Soon…

Coppa Spuntino | Brisbane CBD

From the gang behind Public and Red Hook, comes Coppa Spuntino, a sexy charcuterie bar by night, and bustling Italian breakfast and lunch spot by day, Coppa’s wood-fired pizzas (able to be taken away of a lunch time) and bar snacks menu will have lines ‘round the block.

The Bounty Restaurant & Bar | Rosalie

The Bounty Restaurant & Bar is set to open this week in Paddington. This new Brisbane restaurant, tucked into Rosalie village, is the labour of love of Cameron Murchison, formerly at Esquire, and will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A friendly new Brisbane restaurant that’s sure to fit nicely with the community atmosphere of this Brisbane pocket, keep an eye out for The Bounty.
