With new bars constantly setting up shop in Sydney, we've spotted a handful of newbies that you might not have heard of. Here are 9 of the best Sydney bars that you need to check out, stat.

The Best New (Newish) Bars In Sydney Town

Ramblin' Rascal Tavern | CBD
The Ramblin' Rascal Tavern may be one of Sydney's newest bars, but it has already garnered quite the reputation for solid, good times. Ex Baxter Inn buddies, Sebastian Soto and Charlie Lehmann, and Darden Shervashidze of Frankie's Pizza fame, have put together a killer cocktail list, including the notorious Twelve Gauge Grog. The beer and wine list has an Australian bent, while the decor is all wood paneling, vintage paraphernalia and cosy booths. Happily situated just across from Hyde Park on Elizabeth, this Sydney bar is almost too conveniently located. The is one of the best bars in Sydney, no doubt about it, and you need to check it out pronto!

Bottleneck Bar & Eatery | Darlinghurst
The Bottleneck Bar & Eatery is a small and intimate Sydney bar specialising in meatballs and Bloody Marys, which we think is bloody brilliant! There's vodka, gin, and tequila concoctions, and plenty of taxidermy to keep your eyes darting. Nestled within the Kirketon hotel, this Darlinghurst bar is certainly worth a visit.

Arcadia Liquors | Redfern
Arcadia Liquors in Redfern, not only serves up delicious cocktails but also excellent entertainment, with live music every Sunday. Peter Baecker's '80's Orgy Summer Tour has come and gone, but there is a whole lifetime worth of entertainment and drink to feast on. Go for the mulled wine in the cooler months.

The Midnight Special | Newtown

Newtown's neighbourhood blues and rock 'n' roll bar, The Midnight Special has garnered a loyal following and is one of the best bars in Sydney—delivering live music, a carefully curated cocktail list, and $5 hot dogs! We recommend getting there mid-week to beat the crowds.

Firefly | Neutral Bay
If 80 varieties of Pinot Noir doesn't tickle your fancy, than how about flavoursome share plates, local artisan beers, and cocktail pitchers to convince you that Firefly is one of the best bars in Sydney!

Papa Gede's | CBD
New Orleans and Haiti merge in this CBD voodoo bar. Named for the mascot of good times, at this Sydney bar you'll find homemade cocktails, absinthes and wines served to the tunes of funk, soul and reggae.

Chester White | Potts Point
Chester White is the latest venture from the team at Buffalo Dining. This time they've traded their expertise in cheese to that of cured meats, an exclusively Italian wine list, and a sweet little diner setting in Potts Point, complete with a white picket fence.

Old Joe's | Cronulla
Inspired by the humble milk bar, this Cronulla diner and bar is decked out with pastel hues, vintage signage and offers a US-style menu, including alcoholic soft drink spiders and Cajun prawn hot dogs. Get there for the Saturday night specials, including $3 house beers, $5 spirits, and old-school mash ups!

SoCal | Neutral Bay
From the guys behind Bondi Hardware and The Botanist, SoCal in Neutral Bay offers up Southern Californian tapas, including quesadillas, ceviche and tacos, and cocktail jugs to wash it all down. Its signature salted caramel espresso martini should not be missed!
