It’s officially that time of year—the time when you’re a little (actually, a lot) over the cold weather. The charm of wearing your new winter coat and cute knitted beanie has well and truly faded, as has any hint of last summer’s tan lines. In fact (and this might just be our plummeting vitamin D levels talking) this season can kiss our frozen butts! Those picture perfect people on the Mac ads definitely oversell the idea of typing away while the grave profusion of winter closes in around us. This is definitely how George R. R. We all know and love that special weekend every August when Black Star Pastry jumps on the truffle bandwagon with an array of truffle-ey sweets. Camp Quality’s ‘Dine at Mine’
Camp Quality is a popular charity reaching out to children’s living with cancer and this August their ‘Dine at Mine’ campaign is back for a third year running. The event encourages budding masterchefs to pop on their aprons and host their own dinner party (or breakfast… or brunch) to support children and families affected by cancer. The idea is simple: invite your deep-pocketed friends, family and neighbours over for a meal and ask them to make a donation online when they’ve finished eating. The Animal presents Meat Fair at Newtown Hotel
Back for a second year running, the annual meat fair at Newtown Hotel will celebrate local producers and craft brewers from across the country. This year’s carnivorous delights will include more than ten different meats, including The Animal’s famous coal roasted lamb, succulent spit roasted pork and even kangaroo fillets.
