Ready yourself for an all-day food affair because a major Portuguese festival is descending on Sydney this weekend.
Bairro Português debuted back in 2003 and every year, thousands of people flock to the streets of Petersham to lap up all the music, food and, of course, sangria.
The festival is set to feature stalls from Sydney’s juggernaut Portuguese food and drink heroes, which means you’re in for all the mouthwatering Portuguese BBQ, chorizo rolls, Portuguese custard tarts, a sangria bar, enormous pans of paella, sweet pumpkin treats known as filhós, creamy gelato from the Dolce Bacio food truck and a whole lot more.
Aside from all the authentic Portuguese eats, there’ll also be a mural workshop, a festival bag screen-printing workshop, a soccer skills workshop and pastry rolling classes (so you can nail it in the kitchen at home). To make things even better, entry is absolutely free and your four-legged companions are more than welcome to tag along.
