This spring, a gin garden is opening at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel and there will be seasonal cocktails and oysters on the menu every single Saturday. Now, we know a good beer garden will never go out of style, but we’re also pretty damn glad that the old formula is being shaken up this season at the Watsons Bay Beach Club.
In the way of drinks there’ll be classic (and affordable) gin cocktails with a seasonal twist. The Star of Bombay Gin and Tonic ($12) is holding down the fort for the classic camp and for a spring-specific tipple, you should go for the Bombay Tonic Twists instead, which have seasonal additions like grapefruit thyme and strawberry peppercorn. We do love a savoury/sweet mash-up!
Now about those oysters we mentioned earlier. The gin theme hasn’t been forgotten here, because the freshly shucked oysters are topped with a Bombay gin and tonic granita and we won’t be held responsible for the shenanigans that ensue after you’ve dined and imbibed on oysters and fruity spring cocktails. That one’s all on you, guys.
The Bombay Sapphire Gin Garden is open every Saturday throughout October and November, and there will be DJs playing throughout the day.
