Shooting straight out of the online gaming world is the brand-new Apex Legends. Created by the folks at Respawn Entertainment, this is the latest win in a string of battle royale games to hit our screens in the last few years. It’s a huge win for Respawn – the game has racked up 25 million player registrations within a week of its initial launch.

That’s a pretty hefty figure considering Fortnite hit 45 million registration over a span of four months.

The free-to-play game is available on consoles (Xbox One and Playstation 4) and PC (Origin) and is set in the “Titanfall” universe. Players can choose from a line-up of outlaws, soldiers and misfits, each with their own set of skills, the aim being to survive long enough to be donned a “Legend”. Characters include Lifeline the combat medic who has devoted her life to helping others and Mirage the holographic trickster who’s an expert in Holo-Pilot technology.
