Everything You Need To Eat & Drink At This Epic Spring Foodie Festival

Choosing what to eat and drink is one of life’s biggest challenges (or third world problems?) so when we heard that The Star Sydney was putting on a Bar & Dining Spectacular for two months straight (aka an epic foodie festival); we knew we (and our relationships) were going to be in trouble.

Being the food-crazed kids that we are (and to avoid any arguments when making dinner plans), we decided to eat our way through every magic menu and ridiculously good cocktail creation on offer to work out what your tastebuds won’t be able to live without.

You can thank us later.

Pork. Katsu. Sandwich. Yes, you read that right. For one night only (aka 11 October) Sokyo will be hosting a whiskey, jazz and Aperitivo night and the one reason you need to be there is to taste the pork katsu sandwich. Topped with kewpie mayo (our fave), it’s alllll about meat (you can forget about crusts) and when we say meat, we mean the melt in your mouth kind.

For only a few more weeks, the legends at Balla are dishing up a spanner crab bruschetta (with fresh tomato and basil, of course) so delicious it melts in your mouth. So that you can sit back and take in the stunning views of Sydney Harbour, we strongly suggest you order the entire seafood lunch menu.

Harvest Buffet

We don’t joke around with the word buffet. When we say buffet, we mean it. We want you to try one of absolutely everything (we’re talking oysters, prawns, crabs, mussels, fish dishes, sushi and more) at Harvest’s famous seafood buffet. It will be worth the food coma. We promise.

Black Bar & Grill

With a name like Magic Gosling, you know this cocktail has got to be good so pull a seat up at Black Bar & Grill and sip on a tasty concoction of Gosling Rum and Grand Marnier, rinsed with La gatinoise every night of the week until 12 November. Garnished with a flamed orange peel, you’ll never feel classier.

Cherry + Latitude

The taste of Passion Pop might remind of you being 18 but the Passion Pop’d cocktail at Cherry and Latitude tastes like anything but. A mix of citrus vodka, peach liqueur, passionfruit, fresh lemon juice and elderflower will you be drooling but wait ‘til they add a splash of ginger beer and Pop Rocks. Suddenly the party’s in your mouth!

Fat Noodle

Lychee soda is one of those drinks you really shouldn’t knock until you try it because when do you’ll be absolutely addicted. Fat Noodle’s refreshing, sweet take on this ice-cold summer bev is about as good as fruit gets. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
