WTF Is SpeedFit?

SpeedFit is about to take over your Instafeed. Adopted by the likes of Usain Bolt and Madonna (so you know it’s got to be good), this kick-ass kind of exercise is based on EMS training (electronic muscle stimulation). It mimics the natural action of your central nervous system and sends electrical impulses that contract your muscles with minimal impact on your joints. Huh, we hear you ask!? Basically, it’s a super high tech, personalised workout, designed to achieve maximum results in minimal time (twenty minutes to be exact).

How Does It Work?

Your first session will be confusing, LBH. You’ll be strapped into what looks like a futuristic vest with wires that are attached to a machine, and while it might sound scary AF, it’s actually pretty simple. The machine controls how intense the work out will be, so if you want something hard-core, the electrical impulses will be fast and intense, whereas if you want more of a slow burn, they will be mild. A personal trainer will be with you the whole time and tailor the workout to your needs.

What Are The Benefits?

Other than the fact that you only have to work out for twenty mins #winning, SpeedFit improves your posture and helps sculpt your body (think a flat stomach, toned thighs and taut just about everything else), with potential to lose that winter weight made up of carbs and more carbs and reduce cellulite (yes, really). EMS training also deeply activates muscles you didn’t even know existed through strong, intense muscle contractions, building strength in a way that's a hell of a lot more fun than any conventional form of weight training. How Do I Prepare For My First Session?

The only thing you need to worry about before your first sesh is staying hydrating and eating at least two to three hours before you start (not hard). What Should I Expect After My First Session?

You’re going to be sore. Just like any exercise that actually makes a difference, you’ll feel the workout in places you didn’t know you could work out. This means it’s worked. Stretch and keep moving.

When Will I See Results?

If you want results, STAT (don’t we all), you’ll need to commit yourself. It usually takes at least three to six weeks to see a visible difference (provided you are doing at least one session a week) and like anything that's actually good for you, it's not a quick fix.
