Head to the Art Gallery of NSW tomorrow night for an entertaining forum between talented artist Nike Savvas, presenter Tom Tilley and the new generation of artists featured in this year's ARTEXPRESS.
Triple J's Tom Tilley
As part of the Art After Hours program—where you can traverse the hallowed Art Gallery Of NSW halls enjoying drinks, food, music, art and talks until 10pm each Wednesday eve—the forum will kick off at 6:30pm. Nick Savvas' major installation 'Rally' encompasses the gallery's entire entrance forecourt, at 50 metres long, the work is made up of 6,000 colourful strips that gently ripple above the visiting audience. Savvas is set to discuss the importance of colour and energy in art.
One feels a slight thrill at being let loose upon this grand establishment after dark, and so why not take advantage of this illicit experience and check out some of the outstanding exhibitions currently on display, including: the Biennale of Sydney exhibition, 'You Imagine What You Desire'; ARTEXPRESS; and Afghanistan hidden treasures from the National Museum, Kabul.
For the music lovers, beautiful folk tunes will be played out by musicians Kent Eastwood and Sam Buckingham. Head to the Art Gallery Of NSW and enjoy!
