Move over frosé, because there’s a new frozen wine cocktail in town—and its name might even be cuter than yours. Introducing—freezling, or frozen Riesling, if you hadn’t quite put that one together yet.
Proving that Sydney loves a new cocktail trend, you can take freezling for a spin (or a sip) at Annnata, in Crows Nest, where Christian Blair (previously of Rockpool Bar & Grill and Eau De Vie) and his team have launched an entire range of freezling cocktails that’s been dubbed The Freezling Project (of course it has). There are five flavours on offer, with each championing a different Australian reisling, and just between us, we’re pretty keen to take the Clare Valley riesling with watermelon and Triple Sec for a test drive first.
We don’t know about you, but suddenly this never-ending summer seems a lot more bearable.
