Romeos and Juliets, we’ve got your back this Valentine’s Day with some sweet last minute ideas good enough to make cupid blush (aaaand to fool your date into believing you had this sorted months ago).

Sure, some restaurants in Sydney may have already booked out, but that’s cool—we’ve got some damn awesome options for Valentine’s Day, even if you’ve left it to the last minute. We’re talking about Sunday sessions, outdoor cinemas and, of course, a whooooole lotta eating. You can thank us later.

Dinner at Felix

Oohh la la! You know what they say… If you cant go to Paris, bring Paris to you… Or something. Either way, Merivale’s beautiful French restaurant, Felix will have you and your lover feeling all kinds of romantic when sitting in the Parisian bistro-style venue and enjoying their stunning four-course dinner. At an easy $150 per head, you’ll get a glass of NV Ruinart Rosé, four delicious courses and an amuse bouche because fancy.

Q Dining

Circular Quay

Promised your lover an exceptional meal with harbour views but left it late because you’re a bit of a drongo? No matter, our friends over at Q Dining at Pullman Quay Grand have a few spots left. You can book in for dinner on Saturday the 13th or lunch on Sunday the 14th for $120 a head, and you’ll be treated so some of the best food you’ve ever eaten in a hotel, with an incredible wine list to match. Plus, this one is already in a hotel, so, ya know…

Ultimate Decadence at The Grounds of Alexandria

Want to shower bae with love, but teddy bears, wilted roses and lingerie just aren’t going to cut it this year? Ever the experts on all things amazing, The Grounds of Alexandria are putting a box of chocolates to shame this year, with a lavish, French-inspired evening that will have even the most sceptical of people fall in love with the very thought of Valentine’s Day. With everything from a bespoke menu, Champagne, cocktails, live entertainment and gifts, you’ll be a convert in no time. Tickets are $250 a head, and it might just be the best night of your life.

Sunday Sessions at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

Watsons Bay

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year we couldn’t go past one our favourite Sunday session locations. Whether it’s a quiet table upstairs or Galantines in the sun, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel never disappoints. Especially when they are offering a totes romantic picnic for two in the park, a feast for two in the restaurant, and beautiful rooms to stay the night and get some sweet sweet lovin'. Or watch movies in robes, whatever. Plus, every Sunday until the end of February you can get your drink on with $10 Aperol Spritz at the Beach Club and your fill of delicious waterside eats.

Lunch at Bennelong

Executive Chef Peter Gilmore’s team are dishing up a four-course lovers lunch designed by the man himself. Setting the mood with an arrival cocktail and presented in Bennelong’s signature style, you can treat your valentine to scallops, Fraser Island spanner crab and finish it all off with a seriously good helping of pavlova. And once they see the view they’ll think you booked it in months ago!

A night at the movies with Moonlight Cinema

Centennial Park

The hopeless romantics at Sydney’s Moonlight Cinema have you covered with a special V-Day screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. With a food truck inspired menu and fully licensed bar all you need to do is BYO rug and if you have one BYO puppy! Oh, and they’re also BYO food and booze too, which is always a win in our books. Then it’s just a matter of deciding who’s the big spoon and cozy up for a night under the stars with Audrey.

Champagne aperitivo at Lot.1

Because Sundays were meant for day drinking, the team at Sydney’s Lot.1 bring you Champagne Aperitivo. The best way to describe this would be if a champagne brunch and their popular aperitivo sessions had a very good-looking baby. You’ll feast on complimentary Italian snacks like truffle arancini paired with free-flowing champagne. Sign. Us. Up. If an evening soiree is more your thing, there’s a super swanky seven-course menu on offer.

Lotus at The Galeries Dessert Degustation

Yes, you read that right. All hail the teams at Lotus and Black Star Pastry who will be serving you up a much-needed dose of V-Day sweetness with their dessert degustation. These Insta-worthy treats will make you glad you’re not sharing. Bookings are essential, so get onto this quick smart.

Picnicking with Centennial Parklands Dining

Centennial Park
Nothing says romance quite like a picnic and the guys at Centennial Parklands Dining have done the hard work for you. Treat your date to a gourmet picnic basket and spend the day basking in the sun and each other’s awesomeness.

Say it with pizza at Gigi Pizzeria

If you have a vegan lover or just a lover of good quality Italian food then this pizzeria in Newtown is for you. Gigi’s is not only intimate and ideal for understated romantics, it’s also delicious with its authentic Napoli-style pizzas and super fresh ingredients (that are all vegan friendly).

Bowl them over at The Greens

North Sydney

Bowls, anyone? Chillax in your love bubble at The Greens with a spot of Sunday bowls or nab you and your date a table at their Cloudy Bay Crustacean Cabana. Whatever your flavour, with views of the harbour and a menu that caters for even your lactose free, gluten free and vegetarian friends, The Greens have you covered.

Can’t lose views at Ripples Chowder Bay

If sprawling views and a little bit of fanciness are exactly what cupid ordered look no further than Ripples Chowder Bay. We hope your date likes sharing because their three-course dinner menu will see you diving in with your folk as you choose between Yamba prawns, gnocchi, ocean trout and lamb shoulder.

Fat Angel’s Personalised Love Potion

Surry Hills

Whether you’re looking for a place to kick things off or for a nightcap, new Surry Hills bar, Fat Angel is helping you say it with love and booze by whipping up personalised cocktails based on your date’s name and signature style. Drop them a line to let them know all about your date beforehand so on the night all that’s left to do is drink and enjoy. Cheers!
