Where To Watch The Supermoon In Sydney (If The Clouds Don’t Ruin It)

If a regular full moon makes the world go a bit cray cray, then buckle up people, because shit is about to get real, with the supermoon in full force tonight in Sydney. We’ve got our phones at the ready, and we’re all more than prepared to take terrible photos of the moon that we’ll never look at again. But because we know you’ll want to check it out (we’ll be there too), these are the best places in Sydney to go, provided the clouds don’t rain on our parade, that is.

In case you don’t know what we’re talking about, the moon is going to be a cool 20% bigger than it’s usual self tonight. It’s going to be the biggest and brightest that it’s been in about 70 years and isn’t expected to happen again until 2034. So yeah, it’s kind of a big deal.

Our main hot tip is that you head for any eastern facing beach (think Bondi, Bronte and even Manly), but be warned – thanks to an accidentally viral Facebook event, it might get a little packed own there. Like, 45,000 people kind of packed. The lovely un-official host has recommended that you bring a flask of tea and seriously, he may have just become our hero.

If you really like the idea of enjoying the supermoon, but are lazy AF and can’t actually be bothered leaving the house to see the moon, only to have it all ruined by those annoying clouds anyway, then search for #snapsydney to follow it on Insta.

Just for a little refresher, here are our tips on upping your Insta game, because if you don’t put this one on the ‘gram, then you’ll be feeling more than a little bit left out come Tuesday morning.
