The stellar team behind Northbridge’s Neon Palms have opened the doors to Volare, a leafy new apertivo-style bar in Maylands’ old Swallow Bar site. Embracing and preserving the 1920’s art-deco features, the beautiful heritage space has been given a slight face-lift to give coastal European vibes, with a food and drinks menu to match. Just think: unique spritzes with nibbles like negroni glazed occie and nduja chilli mussel toast.
El Grotto

Jetty bar
Aptly named Jetty Bar And Eats, this unassuming "shack on the water" from Miles Hull (Little Creatures, Alex Hotel, Quarter Acre) is easy to miss but step inside and you’ll be rewarded with stunning waterfront vibes, cool decor, approachable wines and some very attractive cocktails. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Chef Marcello Segalin is whipping up the most delicious range of Mediterranean-inspired share plates—paying respect to the migrants that disembarked ships just around the corner throughout the 50s and 60s. Trust us, this is the place to be come aperitivo hour.
Miky’s Italian
Residents of Nedlands, Crawley and surrounding suburbs would already know about the mouth-watering meals from Miky’s Italian, but if not, listen up. Miky’s is a neighbourhood restaurant sitting on Broadway Street, serving us Northern Italian dishes that have a modern twist. There are plenty of pasta dishes on the menu to choose from, including Napoletana, carbonara, ragu or creamy mushroom. The seafood spaghetti is generously loaded with mussels, big juicy prawns and thick bites of fish, all tossed in a rich tomato sauce and perfected with a light squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of pepper.

One of Perth’s most renowned cosmetic groups, Absolute Cosmetic Medicine, has opened a new clinic in Innaloo, conveniently located in the Westfield Innaloo Shopping Centre. This new clinic will offer the same great surgical and non-surgical procedures available at their other clinics, including injectables, IPL Hair Removal, Microdermabrasion, YAG Laser Tattoo Removal, CoolSculpting, Non-Surgical Skin Tightening and plenty more. Coffee connoisseurs better get to Venn quick smart to try the best brews in East Vic Park. Taking over the popular old Antz coffee spot, Venn specialises in the classic, all-time-favourite combination of coffees and bagels.

So when we heard they’d opened up a slick new upstairs bar and eatery within the Doubletree in Northbridge, we couldn’t be more excited.
Hello Harry
After successfully introducing their epic burgers to the east coast, the legends at Hello Harry have finally opened a store in good ol’ WA. They’ve set up shop on Rokeby Road in Subiaco, conveniently close to the train station, and our tummies couldn’t be happier. Open for lunch and dinner daily, Hello Harry also pours icy cold craft beers to pair with your feed.
Toast My Curry
Toast My Curry started off as a colourful food truck, introducing Perth to the world's first curry toasties. Luckily for us, they’ve now expanded to an equally as vibrant warehouse in East Vic Park, so there’s no need to wait until the next festival or market to satisfy your curry cravings. Inspired by the colours of Mumbai, the space is splashed in colours of pink and yellow, with murals, plush couches and a sea container turned kitchen. If the inviting space doesn’t put a smile on your face, the food certainly will.
1982 Food + Coffee
Set in a charming character space with timber floors and stained glass windows, 1982 Food + Coffee is an absolute Subi gem. The crew here are dishing up top-notch coffees, flavoured lattes, delicious takeaway bagels and toasties, plus, stunning dine-in brunch dishes that taste even better than they look.
Strike And B. Lucky & Sons | Forrest Chase
Perth just got a whole lot more fun, with the legends at Funlab (Holey Moley and Strike Bowling) bringing a giant new adult-friendly bar and playspace to Forrest Chase. The whole space is decked out to feel like 1970s America—think vintage gas station, barbershop and pawn shop vibes—with Strike on one side and B. Lucky & Sons on the other.

Dough Boys is one of the northern ‘burbs go-to pizza spot, and for good reason too. They’re open every evening to hook you up with all your dough-related ‘kneads’, and the pizzas are mouth-wateringly good. We’re drooling at the thought of the Californication pizza: freshly baked dough topped with a tomato base, cheese, chicken, red onion, capsicum, sriracha and kewpie mayo. Did we mention they’ve also got Fatboi Brownies on the menu? As if we needed more convincing.

If you live north of the river, we’ve got some very good news for you. Oh So Deli—a delish sandwich bar and cafe—is open in Woodlands Shopping Centre, and we're still drooling over all the amazing sandwiched creations on offer.
Palace Arcade Fremantle
Palace Arcade Fremantle is much like their much-loved East Victoria Park and Northbridge locations: there’s delicious New York style pizzas bigger than your head, a fine-tuned drinks list overflowing with a rotating selection of crafty brews and boss-level cocktails, and all the retro arcade games you could ask for. But the Freo location is (dare we say) a level up on anything we’ve seen before.
Albert’s Respite and Refreshments
Meet Albert’s Respite And Refreshments, the new-look small bar taking over old Cambridge Street fave, The Stanley. You’ll find the bar’s been given a complete refresh, with a clean new look and an extended sunny deck area for those arvo sessions.
Convenients
This new music venue is hidden in plain sight within a fully functioning convenience store (pretty handy, if you ask us) across from Northbridge Piazza. But don’t let the bright facade fool you; once you step through the fridge door you’ll fall into a dark den dedicated to all things rock.
Toots
We love a little bit of mystery and intrigue, and this new opening has it in spades. Introducing Toots, a sassy new disco bar hidden in a secret bar WITHIN a secret bar. Pretty cool, right? Simply head into the first secret bar, ask the mysterious and oh-so-cool bartender “Is Toots in?”, grab your golden ticket and head on inside.
Lola’s Filipino Diner
Lola’s Filipino Diner is the new chicken joint on the block, and we’re going to scream and shout about our excitement for it. You can finally visit these mouth-watering Filipino faves at the newly renovated East Victoria Park location, which was once home to the OG RoyAls store (don’t worry, the RoyAls guys own Lola’s too, so it ain’t going anywhere!).
St Brigid Bar
Having officially thrown open its doors in June this year, St Brigid Bar is the latest neighbourhood local in Doubleview, coming from some serious hospo legends. We say that because it’s being brought to us by the same good folks who created Perth crowd favourites like Mechanics Institute and Flipside Burgers.
Cafe Freeariello By Bri
On a quiet street in suburban Fremantle is this quirky vegan spot, Cafe Freeariello by Bri. Owned and operated by husband and wife Fabrizio and Cristina, the food here is all vegan, mostly gluten free, and truly delicious. With sweeping views across the trees from the huge balcony, it’s easy to see why this cafe is such a lovely summer spot.
Fleur Rejuvenation
The beautifully renovated Fleur Rejuvenation in Mount Lawley is oozing with serious Bondi coastal vibes thanks to its bright and airy interiors which will have you feeling all sorts of calm from the moment you step foot in the salon. But if the dreamy decor doesn't do it, trust us, the next level service sure will.

Cranking since 1993, Perth icon Fraser's Restaurant has been racking in the awards ever since. If you've yet had the pleasure of visiting this gem, you'll want to change that ASAP.
BamBamBoo | Floreat
Known for putting a convenient and modern twist on the traditional dim sum dining experience, the new BamBamBoo in Floreat is bound to be locals new lunchtime fave. Continuing what was started at their original restaurant at 140 William Street in Perth, these guys are serving up all kinds of juicy dumplings, succulent barbecue meats and other top-notch dim sum dishes all without the interruption of waiters and the clunking of dim sum carts.
Samuels On Mill
Introducing Samuels on Mill, a new brasserie concept within the Parmelia Hilton that draws its name and inspiration from Samuel Kingsford—the man who built the iconic flour mill that defined Mill Street back in 1833. Led by Chef Chad Miskiewicz, the approachable yet refined menu features local-first dishes that heroe WA’s finest seasonal produce and native ingredients from across the state, from Baldivis tomatoes and Shark Bay scallops to Treeton Farm beef and Linley Valley pork.
Mimosa
Sitting pretty at 1 Forrest Street in Subiaco, Mimosa is the newest opening from the power duo behind Tiisch, Sven Bartelt and Danielle Waller. Safe to say these guys are responsible for starting the bottomless trend that kicked off here in 2018 so no surprise to see they're offering bottomless brunch and lunch every damn day at Mimosa, alongside an all-day brunch menu for those of you who haven't yet bought into the bottomless trend.
Old Faithful | Fremantle
If you’re not already familiar with the mouth-watering delight that is Old Faithful Bar & BBQ in Perth, what have you been doing? It’s iconic dishes like their signature Brisket—which is brined for six to eight hours and then smoked for 14 hours using a house-made Texas-style rub—are the reason they’ve well and truly earned their rank as one of Perth’s most delicious American-style BBQs.
Il Locale
This is going to be your new local pizza place. Right next door to the wonders of Skol and Drift Kitchen, Scarborough joint Il Locale is offering up freshly wood fired pizza. Choose a delicious item of doughy goodness off the menu: they’ve even separated it into Pizze Rosse (pizza with red sauce) and Pizze Bianche (pizza with cream sauce). Treat yourself to the Quattro Formaggi pizza, filled with juicy gorgonzola, mozzarella, ricotta and parmigiano. Also available to order on Uber Eats, what’s not to love about this spot?

Right in the heart of beloved Freo is HomeRun Food—one of the coolest new spots serving up American-style burgers, fries, and fried chicken.
Forklore
Tucked away in a quiet little corner of West Perth, you’ll find Forklore—the latest opening from Hanji and Hanli Khor—the brothers behind beloved Bayswater brunch spot, tbsp—and ex-Tbsp Head Chef Brian Kong. A beautiful and serene fitout with greenery and light awaits you alongside a delish Asian inspired menu, exceptional coffee and their trademark baked treats. From xo scrambled eggs and shokupan french toast, to tonkotsu congee and a sous-vide duck nanban udon, there’s loads of exotic brunch dishes to dig into. Of course, you can’t leave without trying their iconic chicken katsu sando.
Fry’d
Let us introduce you to Fry’d, the aesthetic and very, very cool new spot offering up the most mouthwatering sweeties. Sitting pretty at 138 Oxford Street, the most exciting part (beyond the delish icey treats, obviously) might just be the fit-out by DBD. To keep the flavours fresh Fry'd has also teamed up with the crew at Il Gelato to get some exciting new flavours going. Expect things like sticky date pudding, Ferrero Rocher, Earl Grey milk tea, and plenty more out of this world creations. Don’t forget, there are now gluten-free options for our celiac friends. Serving coffee and gelato from 7:30am, then Fry’d ice cream from 12:30pm.

Tucked away in a bustling suburban strip in Nedlands, just 10-15 minutes out of the city, you’ll find The Hampden Hotel—an unpretentious, contemporary neighbourhood pub on a mission to bring back the local. And trust us, after one visit you’ll wish this was your local. Think of a beautifully renovated old building with natural light, high ceilings and lush greenery.
