It turns out being ‘boho’ during a Melbourne winter is no fun (not to mention bloody freezing), so Melbourne’s famous Boho Luxe Market is hitting the road—they’re launching in Brisbane for the first time this month. Our inner Flower Child is doing cartwheels.
If you haven’t heard of these guys, they’re a pretty big deal in Victoria, regularly selling out huge boho-themed weekends at Federation Square and the Melbourne Exhibition Building. Now they’re taking over The Old Museum in Bowen Hills.
The general vibe is Byron Bay meets Splendour: lots of flower crowns, dream catchers, glamping tents, throw pillows, kombi vans and festival jewellery. The Boho Luxe team have assembled every significant boho brand in Australia—from tiny boutiques and stalls to some of the major players. Expect names like Boho Sisters, Grotti Lotti, Byron Bay Skincare and Tierra Alma.
As usual, along with fashion, crafts and glamping gear, there’ll be plenty of food trucks on-site, including vegan food stalls and an official “Chillout Zone inside a yurt”. Nothing says contemporary 2019 lifestyle like a yurt.
If you want to get crafty, there will also be free workshops running throughout over the weekend. We’re going to go out on a limb and say macramé might be involved (for a copy of the workshops schedule, sign up to the Boho Luxe mailing list).
Boho brides, they haven’t forgotten you either. There’s going to be a separate Boho Bride market running alongside Boho Luxe.
