Editor's note: the Westpac OpenAir Cinemas have been postponed until further notice.

If watching movies under the stars and the Story Bridge sounds like a night spent well, then boy do we have some news for you. Making its home at Howard Smith Wharves this April, the new Westpac OpenAir cinema will bring a month of movie magic to Brisbane, set to get your tears jerkin’ or your heart racing, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the outdoors.

With the Story Bridge in the background, Westpac OpenAir couldn’t have picked a better location to hitch up its 170m2 movie screen, and with room for an audience of 800 on the grass, your favourite movie moments are set to have an even bigger impact. You can prep your belly for the big moments with the surrounding food trucks, bars and restaurants dishing up some of the best pre-show meals the city has to offer. Or finish off an afternoon city run and let the Dirty Dancing soundtrack be your cooldown. The choice is yours.

Along with the warmth of sunset views, the cinema will be home to some classic flicks and more modern cinema—Pretty Woman, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and A Quiet Place II are all on the calendar. Head over with your mates, or make a date of it, and let the atmosphere enrich all your favourite movie moments. No, that wasn’t a cheer when Rey drew her lightsaber, it was the wind.
