We love long weekends more than most things in this world and the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend is no exception. Sure, it’s not her real birthday, but who’s paying attention? We’ve got some seriously fun events happening this weekend from silent discos to creating your own personalised gin to singing with your favourite band. Rekorderlig Fika Pop-Up Bar
If anyone knows how to do winter right, it’s the Swedes! Make tracks to The Fine Food Store in The Rocks this weekend to sample a little Swedish culture at Rekorderlig’s Fika pop-up bar! Traditional ‘Fika’—the Swedish version of morning tea, only way better—is a part of daily life in Sweden. BARON SAMEDI HAITIAN NIGHTS
Taylor’s Rooftop Bar will be turning the exotic meter up several notches with the launch of their Haitian Nights this weekend in Sydney. The Haitian takeover will run until 2nd July with baronettes, beats from DJ Moto and face painting. Punters will be able to get their hands on Baron Samedi Spiced cocktails for just $8.50 a pop—made with tasty flavours like vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, clove vetiver and Baron Samedi’s signature spice, there’s no better way to warm up your cockles this winter!

Björk Digital At Carriageworks
We love a bit of art and we love Björk so this event is right up our alley. Carriageworks is teaming up with Intel technology to premier a new virtual reality project called Björk Digital. Presented in five unique spaces throughout Carriageworks, Björk’s artistic vision will be brought to life using the latest Intel technology, featuring work from her first VR album, Vulnicura. This is one exhibition you will not want to miss, and luckily it’s happening for the next two weeks.

So You Think You Can Philly Jays?
Are you a fan of Philadelphia Grand Jury aka the Philly Jays? Have you ever dreamed of singing with said Philly Jays? Well, your dream is about to become a reality. The Philly Jays have embarked on a concept tour, where they’ll be taking the stage alongside their fans for an epic night of karaoke, Philly Jay style. Silent Disco On Sky Terrace
Sydney’s rooftop bar, Sky Terrace will be opening up for four weekends of winter fun in celebration of Vivid Sydney. Sky Terrace’s silent disco will be illuminated by the lights of Vivid and have sets from some of Sydney’s best Djs including Sasha Moon, DJ Kitsch and DJ D-Flat. Dance the night away with some cocktails and mocktails inspired by the lights of Vivid. This event is totally free, so make sure you check it out this weekend!

Rescue Your Fitness Pack Runs
To raise community awareness about Gosford Dog Paws adoption dogs, Rescue Your Fitness is holding a Pack Run event. This run will raise funds for Gosford Dog Paws, but more importantly will get the dogs out of their cages, and out in the open. You can sign up for the Pack Run for just $25 where you get a dog to take on the run with you. If you want to help out this cause (and get a bit of exercise), get your ticket here!

Gin Experience at Archie Rose
In celebration of World Gin Day (yes, that’s a thing), Archie Rose, a distillery and bar in Rosebery, is offering a unique ‘Tailored Gin’ experience for all you gin lovers out there! You will get the chance to create your own blend of Tailored Gin using ingredients such as fresh apple, blood lime and river mint. Once you have created your personalised gin (with the help from the guys at Archie Rose), you can sit back and relax at the bar with one of their signature cocktails while your Tailored Gin is being made in the distillery. MCA Zine Fair
The MCA will be holding their annual festival, the MCA Zine Fair this weekend! This festival will showcase over 100 creators of zines, small press and comics across Australia, and will also include creative workshops devoted to making, swapping and selling. Supported by Vivid Ideas, you are going to want to check these out… And did we mention that it’s free?

Daniel San’s Winter Wonderland
Daniel San is bringing back its epic winter party this long weekend. This year, they are turning their fabulous Rooftop Dojo into a Winter Wonderland this Sunday. Even though you’ll be looking at views of Manly Beach, don’t forget to bring your ski goggles and ski suits to really get into the spirit. This event is free, but you’re going to need to RSVP if you want to get in (and trust us, you do).
