Bringing a slice of New York City to the streets of Surry Hills, Brooklyn Social offers delicious cocktails, American-style fast food and a jukebox playing tunes till late.
The bar and diner is the first phase of The Hills, a collaboration between publicans Ben May, Raul Gonzales and David Freeman, who together boast a portfolio that spans The London, Mrs Sippy, Manly Wharf Hotel and The Backroom. So you can expect big things here!
Housed in the former Mexican Food and Liquor space, the new neighbourhood dive pays homage to 60s and 70s rock'n'roll, with its vintage music posters, neon signage and tartan fabric-covered walls. And as for the music, it's a rotation of The Ramones, The Velvet Underground and The Doors, till DJs take over Wednesday through Saturday nights.
The drinks list features more than 40 gins (with Hendrick's as the house pour), Brooklyn Lager on tap and a hard-hitting cocktail menu, which is divided into the five boroughs of New York. We particularly love the Lady Grey Martini, Spiced Old Fashion and the 6th St Espresso.
When hunger strikes, it's delicious bar snacks like the 'Meatpacking District' burger, curly fries with chili salt, BBQ pork ribs, fried chicken and the 'Hell's Kitchen Dog' that will fill your belly and soothe your soul. Plus you'll be pleased to know former Chur Burger chef Mikey Canavan is taking the reins in the kitchen so you know it's going to be good.
Be sure to check out one of the best new bars in Surry Hills - Brooklyn Social at The Hills Top Floor, 17 Randle Street, Surry Hills. It's open seven days noon till late. See you there!
