Weeknights in winter are made for getting your eat on and this July not one, but two of our favourite venues at The Star are gearing up to take your tastebuds on a trip. Whether it’s a warming winter roast with all of the delicious trimmings or a truly decadent affair, Italian style, the culinary kings at The Star have got you sorted.
An Italian Affair At Osteria Balla Manfredi
You’ll feel the love of two Italians this July when Gabriele Taddeucci from Osteria Balla Manfredi and Gianluca Donzelli from Pizzaperta join forces to show you how love is done, the Italian way. You’re in for a complete foodie love affair with canapés on arrival, including everyone’s favourite, arancini and pizza margherita, followed by seafood salad with squid ink and a mussel stock panini. But wait, there’s more—you’ll then feast on snapper fillet with spicy Lucariello tomato broth and olive cracker before moving on to a sucking pig porchetta focaccia with radicchio and mustard.
To round out your Italian Affair (be still our beating stomachs) is a plate of sweet ravioli with Balla homemade Nutella. Yep, homemade Nutella. So don’t say we didn’t warn you guys, either save room or dress accordingly (otherwise known as wear your stretchy pants).
A Winter Roast At BLACK by ezard
The man behind the name, Teage Ezard, from BLACK by ezard is putting his talents to work with a winter roast like no other. For one night only, Wednesday 13th July, prepare those taste buds for a meal that can only be described as a warm hug for your insides. Your feast will begin how all delicious feasts should, with a selection of starters to get your palate going, including a charcuterie board, followed by a selection of only the best seafood and a winter salad of rocket, endive, candied pecan, apple, pear and blue cheese dressing.
It’s then a case of good things come in threes with organic chicken, pork belly with perfect crackling and herb and mustard encrusted striploin wagyu served with a selection of sides and a selection of sauces and condiments. The dessert offering is something to leave room for with either a warm couverture chocolate ganache with hazelnut mousse and salted caramel ice-cream or the lemon aspen with sheep yoghurt ice, native thyme, poppy seeds, and almond crumble. Remember, sharing is caring.
Both these events are on for one night only, now over to you.
