For those who have an interest in learning good ideas for every day life, you’ll be pleased to hear that The School Of Life Sydney is opening permanently on Monday 25th July.
This wonderful cultural enterprise offers classes on how to live well and wisely (which should basically be a prerequisite for life). The School Of Life started in London in 2008 and found its way to Australia, with founder and philosopher Alain de Botton. After holding an inaugural pop-up term that was extremely successful, they have decided to open a permanent classroom in Sydney CBD.
Their first term features a wide variety of events, from twenty-three ‘How To’ classes on good ideas for everyday life including; Photography as Therapy, Living with a Creative Mind, Understanding Mindfulness, Meditation and How to Face Death. Their overall aim with these amazing classes is to help people develop emotional intelligence through culture.
As well as holding classes, they will also be putting on a range of special events across other Sydney venues. To give you a taste of these events, they will be holding a Music and the Mind event, events on Sex and Empathy and the School’s trademark Philosophy Salons and Philosophy Brunches. If you want to be a part of this experience get your tickets now as we guarantee the classes will definitely fill up!
