With summer fast approaching and lots of fun things to do this weekend, being bored isn't an option. Featuring Caribbean nights, a festival entirely dedicated to chocolate and a celebration of everything cider at one of Sydney's most treasured venues, Sydney is definitely bringing the goods. Check out all the fun things to do in Sydney this long weekend!

Thursday 2nd October

Full up at GoodGod Small Club

GoodGod Small Club has been quite popular on a Thursday night since the launch of "Full Up". The club has collaborated with the Jonkanoo Caribbean Canteen to give you a cultured Caribbean experience that you won't soon forget. Hosted by Sydney's legendary reggae entertainer, Mikey Glamour, the night will be filled with Caribbean cuisine, beats and dancing. So why not kick-start the weekend a day early and head down to Chinatown to soak up the Jamaican riddims and embrace your inner Rasta. Find out more here.

No lights no lycra in Newtown

Feeling the need to shake out the stresses of your working week? We recommend you head down to the Main Hall in Newtown and find out how it feels to truly dance like nobody is watching! No Lights, No Lycra creates a dim lit environment for you to bust a move and groove freely without worrying about judging eyes. Friday 3rd October

Colette Miller's Wings Exhibition

Renowned LA artist, Colette Miller is bringing her magnificent Wings installation to Sydney! Located at King Street Wharf and World Square, the exhibition will run until the 9th October. "Wings" has appeared in various locations in the States and South Africa and is said to appeal to avid Instagram users with the colourful wings allowing visitors to engage with them. The exhibition is FREE and is well worth taking a look at.

In The House Cult Film Classics 

Some of cinema's most successful titles are returning to the big screen at Event Cinemas George Street with the launch of "In The House". For $10 a pop you can revisit some of your favourite cult films including: "An American Werewolf in London", "Blues Brothers" and "Pulp Fiction". World Omnivore Tour 

This Friday and Saturday, take a little trip to France with Omnivore. Head down to the Australian National Maritime Museum and learn from some of the world's best chefs at their masterclasses. We're particularly interested in Matt Skinner's Badoit masterclass on how water and its gas levels can affect the way dishes taste (who woulda thought?!). There'll also be special dinners hosted by local and international chefs as well as a decadently delicious party on Saturday night. Buy your tickets from their website.

Saturday 4th October 

A slice of Italy at The Clock Hotel 

Seeing as the long weekend isn't quite long enough for a trip to Italy, The Clock Hotel is bringing the taste of Italy to you! From this Saturday, The Balcony Bar will be launching "The Clock Salumeria" to satisfy your Italian cravings. Featuring an array of mouth-watering meats, cheeses and Italian wines you're sure to enjoy yourself at The Clock this long weekend. The pop-up Italian style bar will be open from 12pm - 5pm. Bookings not required.

Dove and Olive's Triple Decker burger

To celebrate the fast approaching summer, Surry's treasured Dove and Olive is launching a triple decker burger that will ruin any plans you had for a banging summer bod. This #dirtyeating delight contains monster flavour; a beef and cheese burger with bacon, cheese, pineapple, pickles, green tomato chutney, shoestring fries and salad and will be available all long weekend! Topped off with summer classics like Pimms jugs and Summer Ale it looks like we're set for one hell of a weekend at the D & O. Who's coming?! 

Smooth Festival of Chocolate

Chocoholics, this one is for you! Hosted by Smoothfm, the festival will be located in The Rocks, Sydney and will feature so much chocolatey goodness it might make your head explode! With performances by The McClymonts and legendary band with the appropriate name, Hot Chocolate, as well as various workshops and taste test opportunities this is one chocolate filled event you won't want to miss! You'll also be given the chance to be one of the first to try Knafeh, a Middle Eastern dessert shop that will be launching at the Smooth Festival. Visit the website for more information.

Sunday 5th October

Ruby's BBQ at Rupert & Ruby 

Keen for some authentic, Southern Style American BBQ? Of course you are. IconPark's Rupert & Ruby are holding Ruby's BBQ which is sure to be a meaty good time. Sunday sessions at Bungalow8 

Head down to Bungalow8 this Sunday for some live acoustic music, a good feed and a great view. Sit back, relax and indulge yourself with a pulled pork burger while listening to the smooth sounds of Kate Wighton, Stephanie Grace and The Browntone Duo from 2pm onwards. For the families, Bungalow 8 will also have a Kids Corner from 12-3pm to keep the kids entertained with face painting and balloon animals while you enjoy the perfect lunch on the harbour.

Monday 6th October

Maze Runner at Luna Park Monday

Every now and then Sydney's Luna Park will present us with an exclusive attraction to draw us back through that smiling clown entrance. The Maze Runner Adventure – Live is just that. The colossal labyrinth from the film, The Maze Runner, invites guests to embark on a walk-through, hands on adventure complete with innovative special effects and immersive performance to give you the adrenalin pumping action as seen in the film. To top it all off, core scenes from the film have even been recreated to give guests the full Maze Runner experience! Cider Festival at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

Springtime equals cider time this long weekend at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. The 3 day cider festival will feature live entertainment, a pop-up cider bar and a cider 'trail' that will showcase a variety of well-known and boutique ciders, alongside a fine selection of succulent fare.
