Guuuuuuys, this Saturday is the day we wait years for—it’s National Sausage Sizzle Day AKA Election Day!

Now, don’t get us wrong, we are a democratic bunch here at The Urban List and are all about democracy, but just as important as numbering above and below the line, is enjoying the quintessential Australian pastime that is the sausage sizzle.

The kind folk over at Google obviously share our affection for sugary white bread, slightly burnt onions and lashings of sweet tomato sauce (or BBQ sauce, if you’re that way inclined), creating a 2016 Election Map complete with sausage sizzle locations. Yes, sausage sizzles are officially a thing and we should all care about them.

Vote 1: Sausage Sizzle!

Inner West voters head on over to Newtown Public School, where the BBQ will be cranking from the early morning and where you can even get your taste buds around a baked good or two.

Darlington Public School is silencing the hunger of voters across the electorate. Lines can be huge in these parts so we recommend at least two sausages.

Waverley Public School is the place to be if you reside around the Eastern Suburb’s beaches. This locale will have sausages and cakes come Saturday.

The folks at Narrabeen Lakes Public School are adding some (much needed) flavour to this Election Day with their selection of homemade cakes and tasty snags.

For all you voters in Manly, Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club is the place to be. With what promises to be an event with enough sausages and cakes for all, spend this Election weekend in true Aussie style—sat by the water with a snag in hand.

Hunters Hill

In the electorate of North Sydney, Hunters Hill Public School is your destination for a well deserved Election Day sausage, voting is hungry work after all. You can expect sausage sandwiches with the works, so make sure you bring your appetite.

Balmain voters make plans to cast your vote at Rozelle Public School, who will be hosting an unforgettable cake stall and what we are told is one iconic sausage sizzle.

Five Dock

Five Dock Public School is officially our election day hero. This little slice of heaven has all your needs taken care of: a voting booth (obviously), BBQ in full force and tasty cakes to sink your teeth into.

Baulkham Hills

Everyone in Baulkham Hills needs to give a massive high five to those running this Saturday’s Election Day at Jasper Road Public School, because those are the people who made it possible for voters in Baulkham Hills to enjoy a sausage sizzle before, after and maybe even while you vote.

Calling all voters and sausage sizzle fanatics, we’ll see you at the Cronulla South Public School and suggest grabbing them while they’re hot!

Castle Hill

This year on Election day, you won’t go hungry waiting in line because Castle Hill Public School has got you covered, my friends.

Editor's Note: While yes, you can eat ALL of the sausages, remember that you can only vote once.
