Australian Drinks Festival
Alright folks, it’s time to get your drink on. The Australian Drinks Festival is in Melbs this weekend, and will feature pop-up bars, free liquor samplings, and over 40 free demos and seminars. This is every alcohol lover’s dream. Whether you love your wine, or prefer a good brew, this drinks fest will have something to help everyone enjoy this boozy bonanza. Huxtaburger, Meatmother and a bunch of others will be there to keep your bellies full!
Elk Garage Sale
Elk lovers, this is the warehouse sale of yo’ dreams. This sale extravaganze starts on Thursday the 14th, and carries through till Sunday 17th. There’ll be clothes, footwear, leather bags, jewellery, and a bunch of other goodies too. If you want to nab a bargain, this is the place to hang this weekend.
Pizza and Pasta Weekend
If you love your carbs as much as we do, why not spend a whole weekend dedicated to them? This weekend, pizza and pasta are your boos. Preston is hosting an unforgettable food truck fest to take Italian food nek level. There’ll even be Italian movies playing throughout the weekend on the big screen! Truffle Melbourne Red Hill Pop Up
Let’s face it, who doesn’t love vino and truffles? Truffle season is now well and truly here, and the Mornington Peninsula knows what’s up. Max’s Restaurant will be serving up a truffle feast, and is followed up with a truffle hunt at Red Hill Truffles. There’ll also be a Truffle Marketplace featuring a pop-up truffle kitchen, truffle doggo hunts, live music, cooking demos, and wine (obvs). All the need-to-know here.
Bastille Day French Festival
Calling all French folk, the Bastille Day French Festival is running for its second year at the State Library. Get ready for French film screenings, masterclasses, and an array of French nosh. There’ll be over 30 stallholders all letting you indulge in cheese, crepes, and other goodies. Entry to the fest is free. So go on, get your French on.
Bastille Day at Luxembourg
Francophiles of Melbs, get ready. Sticking to tradition and honouring France’s Independence Day, Luxembourg is hosting a delicious dinz to celebrate the occasion. But this won’t be your ordinary French feast, you should expect a twist on the classics! Think roast chicken wrapped in bacon, Provençale fish stew with fresh local seafood, and house made pastries for dessert. For the Hors d’Oeuvres and five courses it’s $85 per person, and you have an option of matching vinos. What better way to celebrate? Vive la France!

Friday Nights at the NGV
Degas has arrived to the NGV as the winter exhibit, so check out the show after hours for a glimpse into the artistic night-life of Melbs. There’ll be a bunch of live music to add some ambience to the exhibit, and food and drinks will also be served—that way you’re not admiring Degas on an empty belly. More than 200 pieces of the artist will be featured, making it the biggest collection of Degas’ works ever in Australia!
Poultry Slam – Belleville vs Bluebonnet
If you love BBQs and chicken as much as we do, this Poultry Slam is the perf place to celebrate your appreciation for chooks. The Bluebonnet chefs will be bringing you 3 BBQ themed poultry courses, all embedded with that American flavour we love. While the Belleville boys will be dishing out 3 BBQ courses of Asian fusion. Think smokey beer can chicken, crispy Vietnamese style ducks, and even desserts with chicken crackling. Yep, we’re drooling just thinking about it.
Colombian Independence Festival
If you want to celebrate Colombian Independence Day in style, head to Fitzroy to experience music, food, local artists, and join in on the fun. Fam friendly time is on during the arvo, and has a bunch of activities on offer for the kiddos. Fun for the grown-ups goes well into the wee hours of the morn’, and will feature DJs and Salsa bands. Best part? It’s free!
Fresh Hood Market
The Fresh Hood Market in Preston is opening its doors for the first time this Saturday! This graffitied food hall is here to make all your foodie dreams from true. The launch will feature live music and some delish nosh. Henrietta’s Chicken Shop, Hoy Pinoy and 3 Ravens Brewery are just some of stalls gracing this Preston crib. There’ll be over 200 different vendors, all showing off the Preston goods.
If you want to take your celebrations for Colombian Independence Day one step further, Copacabana is hosting a South American fiesta! There’ll be a Colombian DJ on the decks till 3am, and girls get free entry and 3 free drinks! This one will sure get you in the party mood.
