Peruse the daily changing café menu boasting around 50 dishes for you to sink your teeth into!

From the ever-popular deli burger to the selection of casseroles, pies, baguettes, salads and yummy sweets, there's a tonne of things to choose from. Plus Albert Park Deli take lunch orders, too. Have the daily menu emailed to you so you can put your order in and beat the rush!

Last but not least, a visit just wouldn't be complete without a walk through the providore. With all your fave deli goods available for the picking, there's also a huge range of hard-to-find specialty items. Been looking for white truffle oil? You'll find it and a whole lot more here! That's a promise.

Pope Joan | Brunswick East

Pope Joan is definitely one of Brunswick East's most popular haunts, and if you haven't already been, you need to check it out pronto. These guys are all about sourcing the best seasonal and local produce and they don't skimp on the details. Head on over during the day to take advantage of the all-day brekkie menu, or visit at night for a laid back dining affair. You can't go past the black pudding with white beans, smoked beef, egg and grilled potato bread to kick start your day. Trust us, it's a no-brainer.

And if you love the food as much we do, you'll be happy to know that Pope Joan's in-house produce store, Hams and Bacon, stock all the beautiful local ingredients featured on Pope Joan's delicious seasonal menu. So what are you waiting for?

Italian Chef | South Yarra

Italian Chef on Chapel Street is your one-stop shop for all things Italian. This restaurant, pizzeria, deli, café and bar, combines the best of Italian fare at the one convenient location. Head Chef, Simone Garusi, has developed a delicious menu packed to the max with yummy pizzas and pastas, meats and share plates. We're going crazy over the Porchetta pizza and the Meatballs Tagliatelle – so good! Plus the deli is brimming with cured meats, Italian cheeses, fresh olives, antipasto mixes, sauces, grissini and lots more. Why not pop in for a bite to eat, and then load up on some delish produce to take away? Hot tip: Come from 5pm and enjoy complimentary antipasti with your aperitivo.

Oasis Bakery | Murrumbeena

It might be a little out of the centre of town, but Oasis Bakery, a Middle Eastern bakery-cum-café, is definitely worth the visit, especially if you have a love for pastry. And, who doesn't? Enjoy Oasis Bakery's selection of fresh handmade savoury pastries with all the right toppings, like haloumi, oregano, spinach and cheese. Plus stock up on yummy Middle Eastern bread – there's everything from pita, Turkish, saj, traditional pockets, mini bread and more. Relax in the café and feast on mouth-watering Lebanese dishes, like the BBQ plate featuring lamb, chicken and kafta skewers?with hommus, tabouli and pita, or the melt-in-your-mouth triple cheese pie. Pop into the grocery store where you'll find everything you need to create your next culinary masterpiece.

Urban Provedore | South Yarra

If the stylish exterior doesn't draw you in after just one glance, then you've obviously already heard the good word on Urban Provedore and sought it out yourself. Located on Toorak Road, past the station and just before Chapel lies this new café/provedore, which prides itself on dishing up only the finest local provincial produce.

Not only will you find mouth-watering options on the all-day menu like the Buttermilk Vanilla Pancakes and Spanish Baked Eggs, but the display cabinet offers a yummy selection of sandwiches and baguettes together with a great offering of cured meats, fine cheeses and local olives. The wall-lined shelves are adorned with Larsen & Thompson teas, specialty Pangkarra pastas, an assortment of Yarra Valley relishes, dressings, olive oil…and lots more! Take advantage of the take-home meals – all made and prepared daily by the team of chefs, so you don't have to lift a finger. Nice.

Alimentari | Fitzroy & Collingwood

Now at two great north-side locations, Alimentari is more popular than ever and deserves a shiny spot on our list of Melbourne's best café delis. Head to Brunswick Street Alimentari and your only concern will be what to pile onto your plate first. The extensive Italian menu features everything from a traditional Italian worker's brekkie with egg, salami, tomato, olives and buffalo mozzarella (our five!), to a plethora of paninis, sandwiches and wraps for lunch. The deli cabinet is rich with wonderful cheeses and charcuterie, and 'pronto' take-home meals, which means you can pre-order your din-dins and pick it up for the heating. How does pork and fennel lasagna sound? Or Veal involtini? Mmmmm.

Drop into Smith Street Alimentari and pick up some freshly made pasta. Not only is it incredibly tasty but it hardly takes any time to cook. If meat is more your style, you definitely need to try their free-range organic chicken, which comes straight from the rotisserie. Ah-maze.

Bezela Foodstore | Carlton

Flexibility and free-range is the name of the game at Bezela Foodstore in Carlton. These cool cats love creating new things and they take requests too, so if you're after a particular winter warmer, just let them know and you might just find it up for the taking. Visit for the ever-changing daily menu or pop online to check out their blog. There's a great selection of soups, casseroles and all your fave salads, and the deli is overflowing with a handpicked selection of free-range small goods, cheese and antipasto.
