A Nostalgic ’90s Themed Long Lunch Is Coming To Melbourne

Our two favourite things are coming together and we are 100% here for it. Merrywell Bar and Dining at Crown are giving us the nostalgic long lunch of our dreams complete with four courses, flowing drinks and a live DJ set playing all of your favourite ’90s R&B tunes.

Bringing this delicious phenomenon to life are Daniel Wilson of Huxtaburger and Andrew Blake of Blake’s. The duo have teamed up to give you their take on a modern Australian-style shared lunch and we’re already drooling at the menu.

The Opener

Merrywell know that no good lunch can start without a round of canapes, so they’re whipping out some delicious morsels to get the party started. Brandy snaps with chicken liver parfait, lamb fillet crostini and tempura zucchini flowers will be awaiting your arrival along with a glass of Seppelt Fleur De Lys Sparkling to help warm up those vocal chords for sing-a-longs.

Something More Substantial

It’s time to sit down and buckle up (or unbuckle) for the next three courses. Make sure you’re hungry for coconut chicken salad with peanuts, kaffir lime, chilli and herbs, smoked salmon stacks with horseradish cream, pickled cucumber and gaufrette potatoes, and zucchini spaghetti with sun-dried tomato pesto, burrata and parmesan. Paired with Tahbilk Marsanne White Label Chardonnay, it’s the course that just keeps on giving.

The Showstopper

The moment you’ve been waiting for is here and we hope you’ve left some room. Get ready for mouth-watering crispy pork belly, lemon crumbed baby chicken schnitzel with eggplant pickle and slaw, slow roasted cauliflower with macadamia hummus and heirloom tomatoes with burrata and basil. A feast of this kind wouldn’t be complete without a glass of vino so Merrywell will be pouring up T’Gallant Cape Schanck Pinot Noir and the Irvine Springhill Merlot.

A Sweet Finish

Get ready to fill the gaping hole on the sweet side of your stomach with some drool-worthy sweet treats. On the menu is vanilla panna cotta with figs, honey and pistachio and our personal favourite, chocolate chip cookie and salted caramel ice-cream sandwiches (read: heaven). To finish it all off, there’s a creamy Illusion Shaker so decadent you’ll need to share between two.

Make sure to book tickets and gear up for an afternoon of classic ‘90s beats, drinks and four delicious courses with Crown at Merrywell.
