A Pop-Up Gin Party Is Happening In Melbourne

We’ve gin-ed and beared through Melbourne’s latest douse of torrential rain and cold winds, but it has all been worth it, because there’s a nek level gin party coming to Melbourne and we’ve got the deets. Forecast: 99% chance of gin.

As part of the first race of spring on Saturday 2 September, Memsie Stakes Day will hail in a stunning pop-up Gin Bar at Caulfield Racecourse. You can enjoy your favourite gin cocktail at The Tanqueray Lawn featuring live music in the picturesque garden setting.

The perfect excuse to dust off your finest fascinator and frock, make it into a day and order pizza from our favourite food truck, Happy Camper Pizza. Classics including margheritas and 'shroom pizzas will be on offer, along with gourmet and vegan varieties. When you have a gin ‘n tonic in one hand, your best pals and the sun on your legs (a glorious feeling we’ve missed in the past 99 days in favour of curling up with The Bachelor and a spaghetti-stained doona), there’s nowhere you’d rather be.

If you’re an AFL club member, you can breeze through the gates with free entry to Memsie Stakes Day upon presentation of your membership card. Kick off the spring racing carnival at Caulfield and get up close and personal with some of Australasia's best thoroughbreds including Hey Doc, Le Romain, Jon Snow, and Bonneval as they return to the track to compete in the first Group 1 of the season.
