The Ballarat Winter Festival seems to be producing some insanely great stuff and this little gem is no exception. St Kilda’s famous Hank Marvin Market are hosting a Baker’s Exchange as part of the Ballarat Winter Festival and there’s going to be over 15 of Victoria’s finest bakers showcasing their sweet treats and fluffy doughs.
The pop-up event will be held at the famous Mining Exchange with bakers and makers churning out all ranges of bread, cakes, patisserie and doughnuts. The selection of bakers will be pulled from the iconic Hank Marvin Market with a few of Melbourne’s newest players testing out their lemon tarts on the big stage.
Expect to see Hank Marvin favourites Rawbeet serving up delish vegan doughnuts and newcomers Ostrich and Egg with their South African koeksisters (delish fried dough infused with honey). Hank Marvin founder Paul Wesolek knows his stuff and with over 90 Saturday markets to his name he continues to impress, this time with sweet pastry goodness.
Alongside these insanely good bakery treats will be delish coffee served up by Coffee Supreme. So go and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Mining Exchange building and the Hank-Marvin market vibes. This little slice of Melbourne in Ballarat is not too be missed.
Oh and get yourself a take-home tray, because you are kidding yourself if you think one doughnut is enough.
