Melbourne’s Biggest Dog-Dedicated Festival Is Back Next Weekend

There’s been a lot of opportunity for dog mingling of late, and I am all for it. We’ve just seen the back of the Dog Lovers Show, and now we keep the good dog times rolling with Barkly Barks happening once again on Saturday 25 May.

Held at Barkly Square in Brunswick, Barkly Barks is a free festival that will see dog performances, ‘paw-sonalised’ products, dingo discoveries, and dog-friendly meals all served up in one neat little dog-sized package.

The Dog Parade will make a return, with categories including Fastest Floof, Most Obedient, Best Costume, Best Owner Dog-elgänger. You can register for these events on the day on a first come, first served basis.

You’ll be able to pick up personalised pet accessories on the day from ID Pet, and pick up seat covers for your car from Sling Guard.

Making their festival debut will be Dingo Whiskers who will educate attendees about the native dog and raise awareness of Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Research Centre’s conservation work. You’ll be able to meet dingoes Pumbah and Aussie and grab a selfie for $5 which will be donated to the Australian Dingo Foundation.

If your pooch is hungry, we’ve got good news. Canine Wellness Kitchen will be setting up shop at Barkly Barks and serving up street food, bone broths, and even their classic dog-friendly beer.

Oh, and if you don’t have a dog, you’re still welcome to attend obviously.
