If you live in the west, or have ventured over the West Gate and found yourself in Yarraville, no doubt you would have happened upon the wonderfully quaint café Cobb Lane on Anderson Street.
Today the team announced that they have now closed the Yarraville café Via an Instagram post.
It is with a heavy heart we announce the closure of Cobb Lane Cafe. The last four and a half years have been an amazing journey thanks to our incredibly dedicated team, passionate suppliers and our wonderful customers. Melbourne is a very competitive market and unfortunately we can no longer sustain our retail arm. Our wholesale operations will continue and you will still be able to find our products across town at some of your favourite cafes & restaurants and at our market stalls. We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank our team, the people of Yarraville, Melbourne and beyond for the love and support you have shown us.
The good news is though is that they’ll still be cooking up their delicious doughnuts, croissants, and other delicious baked morsels to be sold in other cafes around Melbourne—so it’s definitely not a doomsday scenario.
Cobb Lane opened back in 2014 and is the brainchild of former Vue de Monde chef—Matt Forbes.
If talk of Melbourne's best doughnuts has you hungry, check out the full list here.
